    • Austin Riley remains out Tuesday vs. Cubs
Austin Riley (side) is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Cubs.

Advice: No surprise here as Riley will miss his eighth straight contest due to an ongoing side issue after sitting out both contests of Monday’s doubleheader. There’s been zero indication that he’ll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, despite the fact that he’s yet to resume swinging a bat. It’s a frustrating situation for fantasy managers, but it doesn’t sound like the Braves are going to make a roster move at this juncture. It’ll be Zack Short drawing another start at the keystone on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. Rotoworld Today, 1:41 pm

    • Remains out of lineup
Riley (intercostal) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Cubs.

Advice: Riley hasn't played since May 12 because of left intercostal inflammation. Atlanta has resisted putting its third baseman on the 10-day injured list so far, and at this point, it would appear the team will continue to wait things out. Zack Short will again be at the hot corner Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:39 pm

    • Taking seat Tuesday
Carter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carter will avoid a matchup with southpaw Ranger Suarez on Tuesday. Instead, Ezequiel Duran, Leody Taveras and Derek Hill will fill the outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 12:41 pm

    • Lane Thomas starting rehab assignment in Double-A
Lane Thomas (knee) is beginning a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Harrisburg.

Advice: Thomas has been on the injured list since near the end of April due to a sprained left MCL. The outfielder will likely need a week or so of rehab appearances, but then could return to the Washington lineup near the end of May. Thomas got off to a slow start prior to the injury, but was a solid fantasy option in 2023. Rotoworld Today, 5:43 am

    • Ends Game 2 of twin bill with save
Iglesias notched a save in the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Padres, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Atlanta got seven dominant scoreless innings from Chris Sale before Pierce Johnson took over with a scoreless frame in the eighth. Iglesias then completed the shutout with a perfect 13-pitch ninth. The veteran closer hasn't posted his usual big strikeout numbers with just a 12:5 K:BB over 18.1 innings, but he's converted 11 of 13 save chances this season while registering a 2.45 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. • Effective again in no-decision
Lopez allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus San Diego in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader.

Advice: Lopez exited his previous start against the Cubs early due to back tightness, but the issue didn't seem to bother him Monday. The right-hander tossed 83 pitches and left in line for the win before Atlanta's bullpen crumbled late in the contest. Lopez earned his fourth quality start of the campaign but actually saw his ERA rise from 1.34 to 1.54, highlighting how great he's been this season. Monday was just the second time through eight outings that he's given up more than one earned run. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:07 pm
    • Back in closer role Monday
Suarez picked up a save against Atlanta in the first game of a doubleheader Monday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: For most of the contest it seemed unlikely that Suarez would be deployed, as Atlanta got out to an early lead and was ahead 5-0 through four innings. However, San Diego fought back and took a one-run lead in the eighth, giving Suarez a chance to close things out in the ninth. He did so easily, needing just seven pitches to set down the side in order. Suarez had been used in the eighth inning to face the heart of Atlanta's order his previous time on the mound, but there's little doubt that he's San Diego's primary closer. The right-hander has registered a minuscule 0.44 ERA and 0.64 WHIP along with an 18:4 K:BB while racking up 13 saves in 13 chances on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:01 pm
    • Yields five runs
Bradley (1-2) allowed five runs on six hits over seven innings Monday, striking out 10 and taking a loss against Boston.

Advice: Bradley worked through three shutout frames before the Red Sox scored three runs in the fourth inning. Nearly all the damage against him came on a pair of two-run homers by Rafael Devers and Ceddanne Rafaela. Despite the poor final line, Bradley turned in his longest start of the year and matched his career best with seven innings. He owns a 4.00 ERA with an impressive 23:3 K:BB through 18 innings. His next start is projected to be at home against the Royals this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:06 pm
    • Taj Bradley strikes out 10 in loss to Red Sox
Taj Bradley struck out 10 and allowed five runs over seven innings on Monday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Bradley was burned by the long ball in this one as two-run homers by Rafael Devers and Ceddanne Rafaela in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, accounted for nearly all of the damage against him. The 23-year-old former top prospect generated an eye-popping 22 swinging strikes and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He’ll bring a 4.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23/3 K/BB ratio across 18 innings (three starts) into a home matchup on Sunday against the Royals. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues at this juncture.
