    • Fans eight in no-decision
      Pfaadt (2-4) came away with a no-decision Sunday against the Mets, allowing four earned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Pfaadt was solid in this one outside of a rough third inning in which he allowed all four of his earned runs courtesy of back-to-back triples. The 25-year-old right-hander has now pitched six or more innings in seven consecutive starts and has yet to pitch less than five innings in any start this season. The second-year pro has been inconsistent, pitching to a 4.32 ERA but his 5.1 K/BB and 1.08 WHIP highlight his ability to miss bats.       Bello did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Bello cruised through the first four in allowing only two baserunners and finished the sixth inning in line for a quality start and the win. For the first time all year, Bello was called upon to go back out for the seventh, but after recording one out, he allowed the next two runners to reach base prior to being pulled, with both runners eventually coming around to score, adversely impacting his final line. It was only the second time this year that Bello has not been involved in the decision.     • Tigers will option Spencer Torkelson to Triple-A
      Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Tigers plan to option slumping first baseman Spencer Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo.

      Advice: Torkelson, the top overall selection from the 2020 draft, has slashed a miserable .201/.266/.330 through his first 230 plate appearances with only four homers, 18 RBI and a 56/16 K/BB ratio. He has been especially bad as of late, mired in a 3-for-33 (.091) funk with a 13/3 K/BB ratio over his last nine games.     • Heading to Triple-A
      The Tigers are expected to option Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

      Advice: Torkelson was held out of the lineup for two of the Tigers' last three games after struggling to a .201/.266/.330 slash line with four home runs, 18 RBI and 24 runs scored over 229 plate appearances in 54 games this season. The first baseman will look to hit the reset button with Toledo before potentially returning to Detroit's major-league roster down the road.     • Freddie Freeman homers, swipes bag to lead Dodgers
      Freddie Freeman homered, swiped a base and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, leading the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory over the Rockies.

      Advice: Freeman was the second member of the Dodgers’ lineup to victimize Austin Gomber in the opening inning, clobbering a 396-foot (104.1 mph EV) solo shot just off of the outstretched glove of Brenton Doyle to increase the Dodgers’ early lead to 2-0. The 34-year-old superstar then led off the third inning with a walk, swiped second base and scored on an RBI knock by Miguel Rojas. Freeman also plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. For the season, he’s slashing .293/.399/.477 to go along with seven homers, 35 RBI and just two stolen bases.     • Limited to light throwing
      Senga (shoulder/triceps) took part in light-to-moderate throwing on the field Saturday, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

      Advice: Mets manager Carlos Mendoza characterized Senga's throwing as being mechanical in nature, but the activity nonetheless represents a step in the right direction after the Mets shut down the right-hander in late May, when he received a cortisone injection to address inflammation in his triceps. Senga initially opened the season on the injured list with a right posterior shoulder capsule strain before he experienced tightness in his triceps in May. Even though he's resumed his throwing program, Senga is without a clear timeline for a return. Given the multiple checkpoints he'll need to hit in his rehab prior to being activated from the 60-day IL, Senga looks unlikely to be activated until at least July.     • Griffin Canning pitches well in loss to Mariners
      Griffin Canning was terrific in a losing effort against the Mariners on Sunday afternoon, allowing just one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander struck out four batters on the day and issued just one walk — to the final batter that he faced. The lone tally against him came on a 354-foot solo shot off the bat of Luke Raley in the fourth inning. Unfortunately, that was enough to hand him the loss as the Angels couldn’t scratch out a single run of support for him. It’s the first time all season that Canning has recorded an out in the seventh inning. He got 11 whiffs on 93 pitches on the day — seven on his changeup — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll attempt to further improve upon his 4.69 ERA and 1.37 WHIP when he takes on the Astros at home on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:40 pm

      Canning (2-5) allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out four over 6.2 innings to take the loss versus the Mariners on Sunday.

      Advice: Canning was not the problem for the Angels on Sunday -- their offense couldn't figure out Luis Castillo. This was Canning's longest outing of the season and his third quality start in 12 appearances. He shaved down his ERA to 4.69 with a 1.37 WHIP and 45:24 K:BB over 63.1 innings.     • Homer, steal in win
      Freeman went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, three walks, two RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Freeman went yard in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The three walks he drew Sunday matched his total of free passes from his previous 13 games. Freeman's at a 13.4 percent walk rate on the year to go along with an equally impressive 16.0 percent strikeout rate. The first baseman has a .293/.399/.477 slash line with seven homers, 35 RBI, 35 runs scored, two steals, 16 doubles and two triples over 61 contests. While his numbers are down pretty much across the board, Freeman remains one of the most consistent hitters in baseball in the heart of a powerful lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:27 pm
