Robert (hip) will begin playing in Arizona Complex League games on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Robert has been on the shelf since April 6 due to a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain, but he now appears to be ready to test his hip in a competitive environment. The plan is for him to remain at the White Sox's complex in Arizona through the weekend before officially beginning an assignment with one of Chicago's minor-league affiliates next week. The team has not revealed how long they expect the 26-year-old outfielder to remain on assignment, but it's likely he returns to the Sox sometime in June. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

    • Luis Robert Jr. (hip) ready for rehab contests
Luis Robert Jr. (hip) will play five innings on Wednesday in a Rookie-level Arizona Complex League contest.

Advice: The plan appears to be for Robert to get a couple games in this week out in Arizona before heading out on an official minor league rehab assignment next week. The 26-year-old fantasy superstar has been on the shelf since early April due to a Grade 2 hip flexor strain that was expected to keep him sidelined for at least 6-8 weeks. Barring any setbacks, he should return at some point in early June. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

    • Cleared for batting practice
Conforto (hamstring) has been cleared to take on-field batting practice, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Conforto landed on the 10-day injured list just over a week ago a right hamstring strain. Taking batting practice is certainly a positive step in his recovery, although running will be a bigger hurdle for him to clear and it's uncertain when he might be ready for that. Conforto is eligible for activation Wednesday, but it would appear he'll need a little more time than that. Rotowire.com Today, 2:02 pm

    • Michael Conforto (hamstring) resumes hitting
Michael Conforto (hamstring) has resumed hitting.

Advice: Conforto is expected to ramp up his running progression this week as he continues to recover from a right hamstring strain that sent him to the injured list back on May 12. The 31-year-old slugger, who was off to a really strong start this season, should be ready to return in late May or early June. Rotoworld Today, 1:51 pm

    • On bench Tuesday
Santander is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Santander has been banged up with bruised knee recently and will get a day off Tuesday after going hitless in his last 10 at-bats. Colton Cowser will bat fifth and play left field against Lance Lynn and the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Today, 1:22 pm

    • Padres activate Joe Musgrove for start vs. Reds
Padres activated RHP Joe Musgrove from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Musgrove returns from a two-week stint on the injured list due to triceps tendinitis to take the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Reds. The 31-year-old righty has compiled a lackluster 6.37 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 36/13 K/BB ratio across 41 innings (eight starts) prior to hitting the shelf. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm
    • Active and confirmed to start
Musgrove (elbow) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will start Tuesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Musgrove has been sidelined since May 1 with elbow inflammation in his throwing arm and was initially expected to pitch Sunday, though those plans were derailed after Saturday's contest was postponed. Considering he didn't go on a rehab assignment, it's unclear if Musgrove is fully stretched out; however, he should be close to full strength against Cincinnati. Musgrove owns a 6.37 ERA across 41.0 innings this season. Rotowire.com Today, 1:05 pm
    • Follow-up exam on June 5
Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) will have a follow-up exam on June 5, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: That will be the four-week mark of Encarnacion-Strand's projected 4-to-6 week timetable as he recovers from a fracture in his right wrist, so it would appear he's not going to make it back on the early side of that timeline. Encarnacion-Strand would presumably require a rehab assignment before returning. Rotowire.com Today, 12:55 pm
    • idle again Tuesday
Turang is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Turang isn't starting for a second straight game, with southpaw Trevor Rogers on the bump for Tuesday's contest. Instead, Andruw Monasterio will lead off and play second base. Rotowire.com Today, 12:50 pm
