    • Return might come Monday
Turner (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list on Sunday or Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: While the Phillies have been vague about Turner's timetable, Gelb notes that the shortstop ran again Friday and while he could "maybe" return Sunday, it will "probably" happen Monday. Philadelphia begins a six-game homestand on Monday against the Padres. Turner has been shelved since early May with a left hamstring strain and it's looking like he'll skip a rehab assignment. • Moves up in batting order
Hamilton batted second and went 1-for-5 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over Philadelphia.

Advice: Hamilton's good stretch of hitting led to him batting second for the second consecutive game against a right-hander, and the shortstop extended his hit streak to five games. Since mid-May, when manager Alex Cora started giving him regular run in the starting lineup, Hamilton has slashed .341/.378/.553 with 11 extra-base hits, nine RBI, 14 runs and 10 steals over 26 contests. • Trea Turner (hamstring) running at 100 percent
Trea Turner (hamstring) progressed to running at 100 percent on Thursday.

Advice: Turner is trending towards making his long-awaited return to Philadelphia’s lineup at some point early next week. It sounds like the 30-year-old shortstop will skip a minor-league rehab assignment, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him get in a couple at-bats over the weekend prior to returning. • Makes history with walk-off homer
Merrill went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's.

Advice: The rookie center fielder took Hogan Harris deep in the fifth inning, setting the stage for Merrill to play hero by ripping a slider from Mason Miller down the right-field line in the bottom of the ninth for his first career walk-off homer. In the process, Merrill become the youngest player in Padres history with a walk-off blast, and the youngest player in MLB history with a two-homer game that included a walk-off shot. The 21-year-old snapped a 26-game homer drought with the performance. He's been heating up in June, however, batting .355 (11-for-31) over the last eight contests with four doubles, two steals, four RBI and five runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:35 am

    • Homer, two hits in win
Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies.

Advice: Hamilton singled and came around to score in the fifth inning then hit a two-run homer off Spencer Turnbull in the sixth. Hamilton has been on fire in June, notching his fourth straight multi-hit effort and hitting .333 with two home runs and four stolen bases in 10 games. Injuries have paved the way for Hamilton to receive regular playing time, but he has earned it by hitting .296 with four homers, 10 RBI and 13 steals over 135 plate appearances. • David Hamilton homers, singles in Boston’s win
David Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in leading the Red Sox to an 8-6 win over the Phillies on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s Hamilton’s fourth straight two-hit game, and he’s now hitting .296/.348/.472 for the season. His Statcast numbers aren’t nearly as strong as his actual line, but the improved power from what he showed in the minors is impressive. Both of his hits tonight left the bat at 104-105 mph. • Jackson Merrill slugs walk-off homer to sink A’s
Jackson Merrill blasted two solo homers, including a game-winning blast in the ninth inning, powering the Padres to a 5-4 walk-off victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Merrill took Athletics fire-balling closer Mason Miller deep into the right-field corner for his fifth round-tripper of the season to send the Friars faithful home in walk-off fashion. The 21-year-old rookie center fielder also took Oakland starter Hogan Harris deep in the fifth inning as part of his first career multi-homer performance. He’s caught fire over the last few weeks, batting .294 (30-for-105) with three homers and five steals over his past 30 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:27 pm

    • Trea Turner (hamstring) trending towards next week
Trea Turner (hamstring) is trending toward a return to the Phillies’ lineup early next week.

Advice: The 30-year-old superstar shortstop ran the bases in Boston on Wednesday and will continue to do more running drills over the next few days. Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson noted that it’s possible Turner could return before the weekend is through, but they aren’t going to rush him. It sounds like Edmundo Sosa’s viability from a fantasy perspective is coming to an abrupt end very soon. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:39 pm

    • David Hamilton has two hits in loss
David Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a double in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Advice: Hamilton is now hitting .289 on the season and came into today hitting .338 in 23 games since taking over the starting shortstop job for the Red Sox. Given that he also has 13 steals in 42 games, he deserves to be rostered in far more formats. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:04 pm
