    Kirby (3-3) was hit with the loss against the Twins on Wednesday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out four.

    Advice: Kirby didn't have his best stuff Wednesday, surrendering back-to-back home runs to Carlos Correa and Trevor Larnach in the first inning, along with a third long ball off the bat of Willi Castro in the following frame. The right-hander had not allowed more than one home run in a start coming in and had held opponents to one or fewer runs in each of his previous three outings.   • LIfted in ninth inning again
    Kimbrel was pulled in the ninth frame of Wednesday's game against the Nationals and was charged with two runs on two walks and a hit over two-thirds of an inning, though he was credited with a hold.

    Advice: Kimbrel was called upon to protect a two-run, ninth-inning lead and initially appeared set to do so with little trouble, as he retired the first two batters he faced. However, Eddie Rosario then tagged the veteran closer for a solo home run, and Kimbrel followed with two straight walks before he was given the hook. Keegan Akin allowed one of the inherited runners to score, thus sending the game into extra frames. Though Kimbrel was credited with a hold, he was pulled in a save situation in the ninth inning for his second straight outing, so his hold on the closer role for Baltimore could be getting tenuous. Over his past five contests, Kimbrel has blown two saves in addition to being pulled from a save situation on two occasions, and he's allowed six earned runs while posting a 4:7 K:BB across 2.1 innings during that stretch.     Bradish tossed five innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out nine batters in a no-decision against Washington on Wednesday.

    Advice: In his second start of the campaign, Bradish nudged his pitch count up a bit from 84 to 90 while completing five frames. The right-hander gave up just one run -- as he did in his first start of the season -- and racked up nine strikeouts but settled for a no-decision as both teams' offenses were quiet until the latter portion of the contest. In terms of health, Bradish is still working his way back from the UCL sprain he was diagnosed with in mid-February, though he already appears to be in good form; through two starts, he's posted a 14:4 K:BB while giving up just two runs and eights hits across 9.2 innings.     Devers is expected to hit in the four-hole for the foreseeable future, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

    Advice: Devers slotted in at cleanup Wednesday and went 1-for-4 in a loss to Atlanta. He usually hits second in the order, but manager Alex Cora wants to separate the two lefties at the top -- Jarren Duran bats leadoff.   • Craig Kimbrel blows another save against Nationals
    Craig Kimbrel suffered his third blown save of the season on Wednesday night, giving up two runs on a hit and two walks while recording just two outs.

    Advice: The 35-year-old right-hander has not pitched well since dealing with back soreness, and perhaps the Orioles want to consider a stint on the injured list to sit him down and get him right. Kimbrel came on with a 3-1 lead in the ninth inning of this one and got the first two hitters in order, but then served up a solo homer to Eddie Rosario and then walked a pair of batters before turning the ball over to Keegan Akin who allowed a game-tying RBI single to CJ Abrams.   • Kyle Bradish fans nine in tough-luck no-decision
    Kyle Bradish was outstanding in tough-luck no-decision against the Nationals on Wednesday night, racking up nine strikeouts over five stellar innings of one-run baseball.

    Advice: The right-hander allowed just four hits and two walks on the night. The only run the Nationals were able to muster against him came on an RBI single by Trey Lipscomb in the second inning. Bradish got 12 swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night — five of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 34 percent. He left the game with a 2-1 lead and in line for a victory, but the Orioles’ bullpen was unable to hang on for him.   • Suffers loss Wednesday
    Lange (0-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit to take the loss in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning contest against the Guardians.

    Advice: After recording the final out of the ninth inning, Lange had the unenviable task of pitching the bottom of the 10th in a tie game with a runner starting on second base. The righty retired the first batter but then allowed a walk-off hit to Brayan Rocchio. There shouldn't be too much read into the loss, and Lange has pitched well all season, as he's sitting with a stellar 0.64 ERA across 14 innings. Lange should continue to see high-leverage work for the Tigers moving forward, and he could slide back into the closer role at some point if he keeps up the strong play.
