• Making rehab start Sunday
Marsh (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

Advice: Manager Matt Quatraro hinted Friday toward sending Marsh out on a rehab assignment, and the 25-year-old righty will now officially build back up with Omaha. Starting Sunday would put Marsh in line to return to Kansas City's rotation Friday against the Angels, though it's unclear if the Royals will want to keep him in the minors for multiple starts. • Has good BP session Saturday
Nationals manager Davey Martinez said Gray (elbow) threw about 35 pitches in Saturday's bullpen session, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Gray's session Saturday marked the first time the right-hander has thrown off the mound since landing on the 15-day IL with a right flexor strain, and Martinez noted that the right-hander didn't suffer any setbacks. Gray is set for another bullpen appearance next Tuesday and Wednesday, per Andrew Golden of The Washington Post. Gray will need a few more bullpen sessions before beginning his rehab assignment. • Moved to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Go to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Advice: Go was part of the Padres' trade package to acquire Luis Arraez on Friday. Before the trade, Go was demoted to Double-A San Antonio, where he has posted a 4.38 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 12.1 frames. He'll start his career in the Marlins' system with Triple-A Jacksonville and look to work his way to the big club. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
  • Clay Holmes picks up four-out save vs. Tigers
Clay Holmes hurled a scoreless 1 1/3 innings to get a save Saturday against the Tigers.

Advice: Holmes gave up one hit while picking up a pair of strikeouts. This now makes 16 consecutive appearances to begin the year where he hasn’t allowed a run, and he’s already up to 11 saves on the season. Can’t do much better than that. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Casey Mize surrenders five in loss to Yankees
Casey Mize gave up five runs over 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Mize allowed nine hits while issuing a walk. He allowed a three-run homer to Anthony Rizzo, but he dealt with traffic throughout most of the start. The 2018 first-overall pick sees his ERA bump to 3.98, and he now possesses a 24/7 K/BB. He’ll be back on the mound when he faces the Astros on Friday. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Clarke Schmidt fans seven over five vs. Tigers
Clarke Schmidt allowed three runs while striking out seven over five innings to get a win Saturday over the Tigers.

Advice: Schmidt allowed a leadoff homer to Riley Greene, and then the right-hander allowed a pair of runs in the fourth. In between — and an inning after — the right-hander was solid while giving up four hits and not issuing a walk. The overall result is just so-so, but Schmidt looked better than the line suggests. He’s back on the bump. He faces the Rays on Friday, and Schmidt will take a 3.50 ERA into that matchup. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Dedniel Núñez heads to Triple-A Syracuse
Mets optioned RHP Dedniel Núñez to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Núñez will head back to Triple-A with Cole Sulser coming up to provide a fresh arm for the New York bullpen. It’s likely Núñez will be up-and-down for the Mets throughout the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
  • Moved down to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Nunez to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Advice: Nunez appeared in three games with the Mets since being called up April 27. Over that span, he allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over 4.1 innings. Nunez will join Danny Young in being sent down to Triple-A Syracuse, while Christian Scott and Cole Sulser head to the big club. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago
  • Danny Young sent down to Syracuse
Mets optioned LHP Danny Young to Triple-A Syracuse

Advice: Young appeared in two games while he was up with the Mets. He’s sent down to make room for Christian Scott, who is up to make his MLB debut against the Rays on Saturday. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago
