• Guardians recall Jhonkensy Noel to make MLB debut
Guardians recalled OF Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Noel had an 1.156 OPS for Columbus this month, putting him at .295/.359/.578 with 18 homers for the season. It’s unclear how much of a role the Guardians will carve out for him versus righties, but he should definitely be the right fielder against lefties. He struggled to hit for average in previous years, and he’s a zero when it comes to steals, so he’ll need to keep showing plenty of power in order to be useful in fantasy leagues. • Receiving breather Wednesday
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Ruiz will rest up after he started at catcher in each of the Nationals' last four games while going 3-for-13 with a pair of doubles and walks. Drew Millas will get the nod behind the dish in Ruiz's stead. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago
  • Guardians return Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A
Guardians optioned OF Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Jhonkensy Noel has been red hot in Triple-A, so the Guardians are going to give him a chance now, even though they deemed Rodriguez the better option 11 days ago and he’d since reached five times and driven in two runs in his four starts. It’s a tough break for the 24-year-old. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
  • Summoned to big leagues
The Guardians recalled Noel from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Advice: It's the first big-league promotion for the 22-year-old. Noel has slashed .295/.359/.578 with 18 home runs over 65 games with Columbus this season. Much of that production has come since the start of May, with Noel producing a .343/.404/.651 line with 14 homers in 43 contests over that stretch. Noel has also struck out at just an 18.1 percent rate since May 1, which is big for a guy who has often struggled to make contact. While he can handle first base and the corner outfield spots in a pinch, Noel's best shot at playing time in Cleveland figures to be at designated hitter. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

  • Getting start with O'Hoppe resting
Thaiss will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: With top backstop Logan O'Hoppe getting a rare day off, Thaiss will start for just the fifth time in June. Thaiss' playing time will likely remain fairly limited throughout the season if O'Hoppe is able to stay healthy. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Sent down to minors
The Guardians optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Advice: Rodriguez started just three of 10 games during his most recent stint in the big leagues and none of them were consecutive. The 24-year-old will return to Columbus, where he will receive regular reps again. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago
  • Playing time drying up
Pillar will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Pillar had been a near-everyday player for the Angels for nearly five weeks, but he seems to have moved into a fourth-outfielder role. He'll be picking up just his second start since June 17, as he excluded from the lineup in those other six contests. Jo Adell will hit the bench Wednesday to make room in the starting nine for Pillar. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

  • Out of Boston lineup
Rafaela is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Rafaela has followed a hot stretch with a mini-slump, having picked up only one hit over his previous five contests. Jarren Duran will patrol center field and David Hamilton will occupy shortstop for Boston. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

  • Healthy again at Triple-A
Harris (undisclosed) has gone 4-for-8 with two solo home runs and two additional runs in two starts for Triple-A Sacramento since he was activated from the 7-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Harris spent just under a month on the shelf while recovering from the unspecified injury. He's hitting .301/.415/.496 with five home runs and three stolen bases across 135 plate appearances for Las Vegas on the season. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago
