• Lifts first big-league homer
Loftin went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Loftin hit his first career homer off Hogan Harris in the second inning, tying the game at 2-2. While Loftin has seen a steady run at second base, he entered Tuesday on an 0-for-14 skid that could jeopardize his playing time. He's slashing .253/.351/.304 with 12 RBI, 13 runs scored and no stolen bases over 95 plate appearances this season. Michael Massey (back) began a rehab assignment Tuesday, so Loftin's time in a starting role -- and potentially in the majors -- could come to a close when Massey is ready to return to the Royals. • Fills box score Tuesday
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Gelof took Alec Marsh deep in the fourth inning to provide the Athletics with enough offense to weather the Royals' comeback attempt. This was Gelof's third multi-hit effort in his last seven games, though the homer was his first since June 5. The second baseman is starting to put together better at-bats, but he's still at a .195/.250/.335 slash line with six homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 54 contests this season. • Zack Gelof hits three-run homer, steals base
Zack Gelof went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a steal as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Gelof is pretty much impossible to use in shallow leagues while batting at the bottom of Oakland’s order, but one modest hot streak should be enough to put him back into the top third of the lineup. He’s at .195/.250/.335 right now. Rotoworld Today, 9:54 pm

  • Nick Loftin hits first big-league homer for Royals
Nick Loftin collected his first major league homer Tuesday off Oakland’s Hogan Harris.

Advice: Loftin’s homer came in his 160th plate appearance since he debuted last year. He’s batting .253/.351/.304 in 95 plate appearances while helping to fill in for Michael Massey this season. That’s definitely a bigger contribution than Adam Frazier has made thus far, but Loftin is still probably going to be optioned out once Massey returns. Rotoworld Today, 9:54 pm

  • Josh Smith hits three-run homer against Mets
Josh Smith went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer Tuesday in the loss to the Mets.

Advice: We’re still not really buying into Smith’s terrific start to the season, but there’s little doubt that he’ll remain in the Rangers lineup after Josh Jung returns. He’s batting .298/.386/.451 through 247 at-bats, even though his exit velocity numbers are actually worse than when he hit .185/.304/.328 last season. His strikeout rate is well down, which definitely helps, but he still seems to be overachieving at the moment. Rotoworld Today, 8:46 pm

  • Blasts homer, steals a base
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a steal in Tuesday's win over the Giants.

Advice: The veteran shortstop opened the game's scoring by drilling a 401-foot two-run homer off Logan Webb in the second inning. Swanson later added his fifth stolen bag of the season in the eighth. The big performance was a welcome sight for the 30-year-old, as he entered the evening on a cold spell where he'd gone hitless in 20 plate appearances over his last six games. Overall, Swanson owns a .209/.286/.255 slash line in 245 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:38 pm

  • Rafaela has three-hit night in win over Blue Jays
Ceddanne Rafaela went 3-for-4 and a double and one RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The Red Sox’s No. 9 hitter came up big on Tuesday as his third hit drove in the go-ahead run to complete the comeback over the Jays. Rafaela has been hot of late, hitting in seven straight games while going 16-for-26 over that span. He’s slashing a solid .377/.406/.475 in June but continues to strike out at a high rate (32.8 percent) when he’s not getting on base. We’ll see how long this hot-hitting continues for the young centerfielder. Rotoworld Today, 7:44 pm

  • Ernie Clement drives in two in loss to Red Sox
Ernie Clement went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Clement doubled in the second inning to score Justin Turner and Addison Barger, giving the Jays an early 2-1 lead. Clement has now hit safely in three straight games and has four RBI to his name over that stretch. Clement is batting a blistering .429 in the month of June with six RBI and six extra-base hits. • J.P. Crawford has two hits, HR in win
J.P. Crawford went 2-for-3 with two walks and three RBI in a win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford had two of the five hardest-hit balls of the game with a 106.2 mph double and a 105 mph home run, which was his seventh of the season to go along with 21 RBI. Crawford remains in the leadoff spot for the Mariners but had just one hit in his last seven games coming into today. He’ll remain a fixture in the lineup and has added legitimate 15-20 home run pop over the last two years, which keeps him on the deep league fantasy radar. Rotoworld Today, 7:33 pm
