    • Collects AL-leading 20th save
Clase gave up a run on two hits and struck out two in the ninth inning Tuesday to record his 20th save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: He made things interesting with two outs in the ninth, allowing an RBI single to Jonathan India and then plunking Blake Dunn to bring the winning run to the plate, but Clase got TJ Friedl to line out to Brayan Rocchio to end the threat. The right-hander has converted seven straight save chances, putting him one ahead of the Yankees' Clay Holmes for the AL lead in the category, and despite getting tagged for runs in each of his last two appearances, Clase sports a dazzling 0.84 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 34:3 K:BB through 32.1 innings on the season. • Secures 12th save
Alvarado gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his 12th save of the season in a 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The southpaw needed 20 pitches (13 strikes) to put away the BoSox, as he bounced back from his second blown save of the season Sunday. Since getting tagged for five earned runs Opening Day, Alvarado has emerged as the Phillies' primary closer -- he's posted a 1.91 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB through 28.1 innings, and his 12 saves are already a new career high. • Takes loss against Pirates
Helsley (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on one hit and two walks with a strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Helsley took the mound in the top of the ninth with the score 0-0, but he couldn't keep the game at a stalemate. The 29-year-old walked Jack Suwinski, yielded a single to Andrew McCutchen and walked Bryan Reynolds to load the bases with no outs. Suwinski and McCutchen ended up coming around to score before Helsley was able to record three outs, marking the closer's first loss since April 19 and bumping his ERA up from 2.25 to 2.79 through 29.0 innings. • Emmanuel Clase locks down 20th save of the season
Emmanuel Clase allowed one run on two hits in the ninth inning but was able to close the door on a 5-3 win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: It was an uncharacteristically chaotic inning for Clase who allowed two singles and hit a batter while allowing one run to balloon his ERA to 0.84 on the season. He did strike out two en route to his 20th save on the season. He remains perhaps the best closer in fantasy baseball. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:42 pm
    • José Alvarado secures 12th save of the season
José Alvarado pitched a scoreless ninth inning to secure a save in a 4-1 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Alvarado did allow a one-out single and advanced the runner with a wild pitch, but he was never in any danger of blowing the lead. He now has 12 saves on the season as the main component of a Phillies closer group. He should remain a key piece of the bullpen throughout the season and is a good bet to lead the Phillies in saves even after the trade deadline. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:08 pm
    • Fires seven innings
Kirby allowed a run on five hits over seven innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out four during the win over the Royals.

Advice: The lone run to score on Kirby came via a sacrifice bunt in the fifth inning. After a shaky stretch in May, he's back to looking like his usual self recently; over his last three starts, Kirby has posted a 2.00 ERA and 21:1 K:BB. He was in line for the win after his seventh quality start of 2024 before the Royals tied up the game in the ninth inning. Kirby is now sporting a 3.81 ERA with a terrific 78:7 K:BB through 80.1 frames. His next start is lined up to be at home against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:32 pm

    • George Kibry strong for seven against Royals
George Kirby pitched seven innings of one-run ball Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Kirby was in line for the win when he left, but a two-run lead was blown in the bottom of the ninth. Kirby has allowed a total of four runs in his last three starts, lowering his ERA from 4.33 to 3.81. He went without walking a batter today, and his K/BB stands at 78/7 through 80 1/3 innings. • Yields HR in non-save appearance
Clase allowed a solo home run and struck out one during the ninth inning of Sunday's 6-3 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Clase took the mound in the ninth inning despite the Guardians owning a four-run lead, and he surrendered a two-out solo homer to Jake Burger during the outing. Due to the score, Clase wasn't eligible for a save, though the Guardians opted to give him his first game action since Tuesday. Burger's long ball was Clase's first earned run allowed since April 14, which spans 24 appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:28 pm
    • Blows second save
Alvarado (1-3) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning against the Mets. He struck out two.

Advice: Alvarado entered the game with a one-run lead looking to preserve his 12th save, but things went downhill quickly. After allowing a walk and a single to start the inning, an infield single by Mark Vientos tied the game. Then with the bases loaded and one out, a hit-by-pitch followed by a passed ball allowed two more runners to score, saddling Alvarado with his second blown save and third loss of the season. Sunday's outing came on the heels of five consecutive scoreless appearances since his last blown save, which came May 24 in Colorado. The outing lifted Alvarado's ERA to 3.54 with a 1.14 WHIP and 31 strikeouts through 28 innings this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:59 pm
