    • Ryan Helsley closes out Cubs on Saturday night
Ryan Helsley walked the tightrope in the ninth inning on Saturday against the Cubs, but managed to escape with the lead intact to earn his 16th save of the season.

Advice: Helsley took over with a three-run lead to protect, but immediately made things interesting by allowing singles to Dansby Swanson and Nick Madrigal to start the inning. After retiring Ian Happ, he allowed a run-scoring single to Mike Tauchman and a two-out RBI single to Cody Bellinger that made it a one-run game. He battled back though, getting Christopher Morel to bounce into a fielder’s choice to end it. Helsley has now made good on 16 of his first 17 save chances on the season while posting a 1.96 ERA. • José Alvarado gives up game-tying homer to Rockies
José Alvarado took a blown save after giving up a game-tying homer to Jacob Stallings in the ninth inning Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: Alvarado has a couple of losses, but this is his first blown save to go along with nine saves and four holds. He’s still the clear favorite for saves in Philadelphia. Incredibly, he’s walked just two batters in his last 18 appearances, spanning 16 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Friday, 11:49 pm

    • Suffers first blown save
Alvarado blew the save Friday against the Rockies. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out two.

Advice: Alvarado looked to be cruising to another save after striking out Jordan Beck and Hunter Goodman to start the bottom of the ninth inning. However, pinch hitter Jacob Stallings and his career .340 slugging percentage had different plans, crushing a 427-foot solo home run to hand Alvarado his first blown save in 2024. The flame-throwing lefty sports a 3.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 22.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:45 pm

    • Collects save
Helsley walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Orioles.

Advice: The game was suspended due to inclement weather Tuesday and resumed Wednesday, which likely means he'll be unavailable for Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest. Nolan Gorman hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Cardinals a lead, and Helsley was able to close it out for his 15th save of the season. He extended his scoreless streak to 11 innings and now has a 1.23 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB over 22 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:20 am

    • Ryan Helsley notches 15th save
Ryan Helsley picked up his 15th save Wednesday after play resumed in Tuesday’s suspended game versus the Orioles.

Advice: Helsley walked Jordan Westburg with one out, but he then got a double-play ball from Collin Cowser to end the game. Helsley has converted all of his save chances since blowing one in his season debut March 30. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:13 am
