The Dodgers optioned Vargas to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Advice: With Cavan Biggio arriving in Los Angeles after being acquired from the Blue Jays earlier Wednesday, Vargas will head back to Triple-A to open up a spot on the 26-man active roster. During his stay with the Dodgers following his promotion from Triple-A on May 17, Vargas started in just six games and hit .250 with one home run and one stolen base over 23 plate appearances. • Carlos Correa tallies five hits, Twins roll Rockies
Carlos Correa recorded a career-high five hits on Wednesday, leading the Twins to a lopsided 17-9 win over the Rockies

Advice: Correa singled five times, finishing 5-for-6 with an RBI and also scored three runs in this one, as Minnesota racked up a staggering 24 hits in a back-and-forth slugfest at Target Field. It’s pretty incredible the impact that a five-hit effort can have as it raises his full-season batting average from .271 to a near-elite .290 mark. The 29-year-old shortstop isn’t hitting for a ton of over-the-fence pop, but he’s been on a tear of late, batting .310 over his last 30 games. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Ryan McMahon homers in second straight contest
Ryan McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Twins.

Advice: McMahon has snapped out of an extended tailspin at the dish with homers in back-to-back contests after taking Twins ace Pablo López deep in the fourth inning of this one for his 12th round-tripper of the season. The 29-year-old infielder has been a reliable power source, but his batting average has been all over the place as he osciallyed between hot-and-cold stretches. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

    • Royce Lewis stays hot with fifth homer on Wednesday
Royce Lewis went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer on Wednesday in the Twins’ blowout win over the Rockies.

Advice: Lewis took Rockies reliever Angel Chivilli deep for a 424-foot dinger in the sixth inning for his fifth long ball of the year. The 25-year-old burgeoning slugger has launched four homers in eight games since returing from the injured list back on June 4. He has fantasy superstar potential, if he can somehow manage to stay on the field and avoid the injuries that have plagued him the last few years. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

    • Pablo López strikes out five in win over Rockies
Pablo López allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Rockies.

Advice: López wasn’t quite as dominant as fantasy managers might’ve expected considering he was facing a Rockies squad that historically-speaking tends to struggle away from Coors Field. Hoewever, he managed to limit Colorado’s lineup to just five hits, including a solo homer by Ryan McMahon, in a much-needed rebound performance after being shelled for seven runs his last time out against the Yankees. He recorded five strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’s been much better from an underlying numbers standpoint than his surface stats would suggest and remains an upper-echelon fantasy starter in the current injury-plagued landscape. He’ll carry an inflated 5.33 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 84/17 K/BB ratio across 76 innings (14 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Rays. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

    • Austin Gomber lit up for eight runs by Twins
Austin Gomber was obliterated for eight runs over three innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Twins.

Advice: The scary part here is that this contest wasn’t at Coors Field and Gomber managed to give up eight runs on 11 hits with only one of them leaving the ballpark. He struck out two and only handed out one free pass. The calamitous outing results in his full-season ERA skyrocketing from a respectable 3.38 mark to a bloated 4.26 instead. He’ll aim for better results his next time out in a challenging matchup in Colorado against the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

    • Sitting out against lefty
Valdez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Valdez will exit the starting nine while the Phillies bring southpaw Cristopher Sanchez to the hill. The Red Sox will turn to the right-handed-hitting Jamie Westbrook to replace Valdez at the keystone. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Dodgers option Miguel Vargas to Triple-A OKC
Dodgers optioned INF/OF Miguel Vargas to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The Dodgers needed to free up a spot on their active roster for Cavan Biggio’s arrival on Wednesday and unfortunately Vargas was the odd-man out this time around. The 24-year-old will go back to mashing Triple-A pitching until he’s needed once again. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

    • Willy Adames powers Brewers to win over Blue Jays
Willy Adames slugged a gargantuan two-run homer on Wednesday, powering the Brewers to a 5-4 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Adames followed teammate Christian Yelich’s go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning with a colossal 446-foot moonshot to straightaway center field off Toronto southpaw reliever Tim Mayza. The 28-year-old shortstop has homered twice in his last three contests and is up to 11 round-trippers on the year, which puts him on pace to threaten his previous career-high mark of 31 big flies that he set back in 2022.
