Reynolds went 2-for-4 with a stolen base Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Reynolds has enjoyed a productive stretch across his last 12 starts, collecting 14 hits across 52 at-bats. He's also tallied three home runs, 12 RBI and a stolen base in that span. Reynolds has hit second in every game this season and should remain a steady contributor across all five categories. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:29 pm

    • Struggles with shaky defense
Imanaga allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and struck out six without walking a batter over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Christopher Morel's fielding error in the fourth inning was costly, as the White Sox rallied against Imanaga. The southpaw ultimately exited in the fifth after just 69 pitches (48 strikes), and the Cubs rallied to get him off the hook. After a historically strong first nine major-league starts, Imanaga has been tagged for 12 runs (eight earned) over 8.2 innings in his last two appearances. He's now at a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 65:10 K:BB over 62.1 innings. His control remains sharp, so it's likely this recent poor stretch is just a bit of regression that he'll have to work through. • X-rays on hand negative
X-rays on Bregman's left hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Cardinals, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Bregman took a 93-mph sinker off his hand during the first inning of Tuesday's contest, but he was able to shake it off and remain in the game, going 1-for-3 with three runs scored. Precautionary X-rays confirmed the All-Star third baseman isn't dealing with any serious damage, but there is still a chance he sits out Wednesday's series finale in order to avoid playing with any lingering hand soreness. • Alex Bregman day-to-day with bruised hand
Alex Bregman had X-rays on his hand that came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday’s game.

Advice: Bregman is day-to-day. If he can’t go on Wednesday, Mauricio Dubón will likely start at third base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:51 pm

    • Imanaga allows one run as Cubs down White Sox
Shota Imanaga allowed one earned run in 4 1/3 innings while striking out six in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

Advice: Imanaga, who didn’t earn a decision in this one, allowed just two base runners through his first three innings but ran into trouble in the fourth after back-to-back singles by Andrew Vaughn and Luis Robert Jr. kickstarted what turned into a five-run inning for the White Sox. Imanaga was charged with just one earned run on the night, but the White Sox did their part to get to him early. A double by Korey Lee would put the White Sox up 3-0, but Lenyn Sosa’s two-run homer just a few batters later quickly pushed that lead to 5-0. Imanaga would be pulled with one out in the fifth inning after a rain delay and is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Reds. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:26 pm
    • Jared Jones holds Dodgers scoreless in win
Jared Jones threw six scoreless innings in a win over the Dodgers, striking out six and walking three.

Advice: Jones allowed three hits on the night and just one extra-base hit, a double to Freddie Freeman. After allowing at least three runs in four straight starts, including five earned runs in his last start against the Tigers, some questions were mounting about whether Jones was tiring. Instead, he came out and shut down the Dodgers. It wasn’t an electric start with just a 21 percent CSW, but he did get 12 whiffs on 51 swings for a 24 percent whiff rate. The rookie has continued to impress with a 3.25 ERA and will look to keep it going in a start against the Twins this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:39 pm

    • Blanks Dodgers in fourth win
Jones (4-5) earned the win Tuesday over the Dodgers, allowing three hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: It was an impressive return to form for Jones after he gave up a season-high five runs in 4.1 innings in his last start against Detroit. It's the fifth quality start in Jones' last six outings -- his ERA now sits at 3.25 with a 1.01 WHIP 76:15 K:BB across 12 starts (69.1 innings) in his rookie campaign. The 22-year-old Jones is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Twins this weekend in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:27 pm

    • Zach Eflin (back) to start Wednesday vs. Marlins
Zach Eflin (back) will start on Wednesday against the Marlins.

Advice: It’s a soft landing spot for Eflin as he draws the starting assignment for Wednesday’s series finale against a light-hitting Marlins lineup that ranks 29th this season in runs scored. The 30-year-old righty has been on the shelf since late May due to lower back inflammation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:39 pm

    • Report: Padres pursuing trade for Garrett Crochet
The Athletic’s Dennis Lin and Ken Rosenthal report the Padres have shown strong interest in trade discussions for White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet.

Advice: Here we go. No word on how close a potential deal may be, but it’s worth noting the two sides struck a deal a few months ago centered around White Sox ace Dylan Cease and appear to be circling another potential blockbuster. San Diego’s starting pitching depth took a serious hit last weekend with Yu Darvish (groin) and Joe Musgrove (elbow) landing on the injured list so it wouldn’t be shocking to see Padres general manager AJ Preller getting aggressive to fill the void. Crochet is in the midst of an unexpected breakout campaign with a stellar 3.49 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 93/15 K/BB ratio across 69 2/3 innings (13 starts). The former top prospect is still only 24 years old and figures to command an astronomical asking price in trade talks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:13 pm
