    • John Means strikes out four in win over Mariners
John Means logged a quality start in Friday evening’s victory over the Mariners, surrendering just two runs on six hits across six frames.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw punched out four batters on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He allowed an RBI single to Mitch Garver in the first inning, then served up a solo blast to Dylan Moore in the fifth, but that was the extent of the damage done against him in this one. Means got 11 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night — eight of those on his changeup — while registering a CSW of 32 percent. Through his first three starts, he now sits at 2-0 with a 3.06 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and a 15/0 K/BB ratio over 17 2/3 innings. He’ll look to extend that dominance when he takes on the Cardinals in St. Louis on Wednesday. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

    • Alec Bohm drives in run as Phillies beat Nationals
Alec Bohm clubbed an RBI double on Friday as the Phillies defeated the Nationals in Philadelphia.

Advice: Bohm opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning, plating J.T. Realmuto with his run-scoring double off of Nationals’ right-hander Jake irvin. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. For the season, the 27-year-old slugger is now hitting a robust .331/.397/.521 with four long balls, 37 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. • Throwing off mound
Eovaldi (groin) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Friday will mark the first time Eovaldi has thrown off a mound since being diagnosed with a right groin strain May 3. He's eligible to return from the IL on Saturday, but considering the right-hander is just now resuming mound work, he may still be a week or two from returning to Texas' rotation. A clearer timeline for his return may emerge once he progresses to facing live hitters. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm

    • Jeffers returns to the lineup Friday
Ryan Jeffers is back in the Twins lineup, batting third against the Guardians on Friday.

Advice: Jeffers got the day off Thursday with the Twins playing a day game after a night game. Jeffers is enjoying his best season with a .283 average and .979 OPS this year. Rotoworld Today, 12:10 pm

    • Bohm smacks two doubles Thursday
Alec Bohm went 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Bohm continues to bash the ball this season as his average is .331. Bohm has a 15 percent strikeout percentage since the beginning of last season. He’s someone you can count on for a solid batting average and entrenched in the middle of the Phillies batting order. Bohm is also benefiting greatly from a .381 BABIP, which is 55 points higher than his career .326 BABIP. He probably has to cool off at some point, but his profile doesn’t scream sell high.

    • Max Kepler goes hitless in Twins’ shutout loss
Max Kepler went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Thursday in the Twins’ shutout loss at the hands of the Yankees.

Advice: Kepler has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball of late, hitting .354 (17-for-48) with two homers and seven doubles in 14 games since the start of May, but wasn’t able to get anything going in this one. He wasn’t alone as Minnesota’s lineup wound up being limited to just three hits as Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt and reliever Victor González combined on a shutout. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:32 pm

    • Tyler O’Neill not in the Red Sox lineup on Thursday
Tyler O’Neill is not in the lineup on Thursday as the Red Sox take on the Rays.

Advice: After getting off to a torrid start, O’Neill has struggled of late. Since his collision with Rafael Devers in the outfield on April 15th which landed O’Neill on the concussion IL, the outfielder has hit just .219 with three home runs and a 41.5 percent strikeout rate. He was hitting .313 with seven home runs and a 21 percent strikeout rate prior. While the early season sample size is small, it’s worth noting that concussion symptoms can linger, as we saw with Anthony Rizzo last year. Perhaps it’s just a cold stretch, but maybe O’Neill is still feeling some effects of the head injury. Rob Refsnyder will be in left field and hitting third on Thursday while Garrett Cooper will DH and bat sixth. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:37 am

    • Gets Thursday off
O'Neill isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: O'Neill will get a chance to regroup Thursday after striking out seven times across his last two games. Rob Refsnyder will take his place in left field and bat third. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:36 am

    • Angels activate Luis Rengifo for Friday return
Angels activated INF/OF Luis Rengifo from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The Angels tried to keep Rengifo on the active roster, but after he missed five games, they decided to put him on the injured list last Thursday. A week later, he’s returning to the fold and should likely remain an everyday player for the Angels given how banged up their lineup is. Niko Goodrum was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:35 am
