    • Stays at shortstop
Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Smith made another start at shortstop, as the Rangers are being careful with Corey Seager (hamstring). Seager had returned to action Wednesday, serving as the DH, and was originally in Thursday's starting lineup at DH before being scratched. Smith continued to be a surprising contributor for the Rangers; he's gone 19-for-53 (.358) with six extra-base hits, two steals, four RBI and 10 runs scored over the last 15 games. • Fans eight over six frames
Pfaadt (3-5) earned the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over six innings while striking out eight.

Advice: Pfaadt allowed the leadoff man to reach base in two of his first three innings, but escaped unscathed via double plays on each occasion. He would then surrender an RBI single to Mickey Moniak in the fourth before going on to log his seventh quality start of the campaign. The right-hander has allowed two or fewer runs in three of his last six outings, going 2-2 over that stretch. Pfaadt's also recorded at least seven strikeouts in four of his last six starts. • Racks up 13 strikeouts Thursday
Crochet allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Thursday.

Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant in the outing, inducing 24 swinging strikes and finishing with a career-high 13 punchouts. The only run against the southpaw came via Tyler Locklear's first career homer in the fifth inning, and Crochet was in line for the victory before Michael Kopech blew a save opportunity in the ninth. Despite a few rough starts in April, Crochet has been a revelation for the White Sox and for fantasy managers this season. Over his past nine starts, he's recorded a 1.36 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 76:11 K:BB over 53 innings. Crochet is tied with Tyler Glasnow for the major-league lead with 116 punchouts on the campaign. • Brandon Pfaadt strikes out eight, allows one run
Brandon Pfaadt struck out eight while limiting the Angels to one run in six innings to get a win Thursday.

Advice: Pfaadt did have some control issues with three walks and 62-of-108 pitches landing for strikes, but he was able to work out of jams thanks to the punchouts. It’s a much improved effort from last weekend when he gave up nine hits and five runs against San Diego. Pfaadt has shown almost zero consistency in his MLB career — at least not in a positive way — but the stuff is here for him to be a successful fantasy option. His next chance for quality results comes next week against the Nats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:14 pm
    • Garrett Crochet weaves gem with 13 strikeouts
Garrett Crochet struck out 13 batters over seven innings of one-run baseball but didn’t pick up a decision Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Crochet was absolutely dominant while taking advantage of a team that strikes out at an enormous rate, so the results are equally impressive and not surprising. He did allow a solo homer to Tyler Locklear, but outside of that and a Victor Robles double, it was smooth sailing for the 24-year-old. The 13 punchouts are a season-high, but this is a hurler who has already fanned 116 batters in just-under 83 innings with a 3.16 ERA. Crochet is an absolute must-start regardless of opponent, and he gets the Astros on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:23 pm

    • Three hits, three RBI in loss
Schwarber went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a 9-3 loss to the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Schwarber singled in the first inning then got the Phillies on the board with a three-run double in the fourth. He later added another single in the seventh and walked in the ninth. Schwarber is riding a six-game hit streak that includes three multi-hit efforts, two home runs and five RBI. Schwarber's current .249 average would be his best in a Phillies uniform, and he now has 13 home runs, 41 RBI and 48 runs scored in 305 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:38 pm

    • Schwarber has three hits, three RBI in loss
Kyle Schwarber went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and three RBI against the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Schwarber cleared the bases with a three-run double to pull the Phillies within a run in the second inning. However, those would be the only runs Philadelphia would score on the night. Schwarber is up to .249 with 41 RBI on the season. His power is down as his .177 ISO this year is well below his career .259 ISO. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm

    • Nolan Gorman goes 0-for-4 against Pirates
Nolan Gorman finished 0-for-4 as the Cardinals’ cleanup man Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: Gorman is 3-for-31 in his last eight games, putting him back down to .215/.297/.463 for the season. That’s still a pretty good line in the current offensive climate, but he’d be better cast as a No. 6 hitter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm

    • Collects season-high four hits
Albies went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: Albies' first-inning double set the stage for Atlanta to take an early lead, and his double in the ninth eventually led to a couple of insurance runs as a tight one-run lead turned into a three-run victory. Albies collected multiple hits for the 17th time this season, though it's just the second time he's had three or more in a game. His four-hit effort came on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he had collected just four hits total, batting .143 over 28 at-bats during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:06 pm
