    • Salvador Perez exits Friday with knee discomfort
      Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

      Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend.       Ramos went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Angels.

      Advice: Ramos collected his seventh multi-hit effort in 12 games in June. He's also posted five homers, 14 RBI and an 8:15 BB:K over that span. Ramos is up to a .314/.400/.529 slash line with seven long balls, 27 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base over 140 plate appearances this season. He initially worked in the corner outfield spots, but the 24-year-old has started the last seven games in center field as he continues to solidify his place in the majors.       Heliot Ramos hit a three-run homer and reached four times in a loss to the Angels on Friday.

      Advice: In addition to the three-run homer, Ramos also singled and drew a pair of walks. The 24-year-old has been outstanding in 2024 after struggling in his limited MLB chances in the past, and the four-reach game has him slashing .314/.400/.529 in 121 at-bats.       Advice: Perez hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead, but his knee caused him to come out of the game during the eighth. It's unclear how severe the backstop's injury is, but the Royals should know more before Saturday's contest.       Jhoan Duran picked up his second victory of the season on Friday evening, working two scoreless innings against the Athletics.

      Advice: Duran came on to work the top half of the ninth inning in a tied game and kept the A’s off the board. He then returned for the 10th inning and retired the side in order, setting the stage for Max Kepler’s heroics.       Jose Altuve went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored on Friday evening, helping to lead the Astros past the Tigers.

      Advice: Altuve got a rally started with a leadoff double off of Tarik Skubal to begin the sixth inning. He then scored the game’s first run on Alex Bregman’s ensuing RBI triple. Altuve also drew a walk in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. With his two-hit attack, the 34-year-old second baseman is now slashing an outstanding .298/.349/.453 to go along with 10 homers, 26 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.       Kevin Gausman lost to the Guardians after allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings on Friday.

      Advice: Gausman’s velocity was well down for a second straight start tonight, even though he was working with an extra day off. It’s a definite cause for concern at this point; there’d be much more reason to expect Gausman to bounce back while throwing 94 mph than there is while he’s throwing 92.       Turner (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list on Sunday or Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: While the Phillies have been vague about Turner's timetable, Gelb notes that the shortstop ran again Friday and while he could "maybe" return Sunday, it will "probably" happen Monday. Philadelphia begins a six-game homestand on Monday against the Padres. Turner has been shelved since early May with a left hamstring strain and it's looking like he'll skip a rehab assignment.
