    • Taking dry swings
Muncy (oblique) has begun taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: This is a step forward for Muncy, as he had previously been unable to swing a bat at all after continuing to experience soreness in his oblique. However, manager Dave Roberts said last week that the third baseman is on a "slow program," so Muncy doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return. He hasn't played in a game since May 15 and will likely need to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big-league club. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

    • Taking seat Saturday
Turner is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Turner will begin Saturday's game in the dugout after going 0-for-3 with one walk and two strikeouts in the series opener Friday. The lefty-hitting Daniel Vogelbach will serve as the designated hitter Saturday and bat sixth against Athletics right-hander Luis Medina. Rotowire.com Today, 10:29 am

    • Plays full game in field
Perdomo started at shortstop and went 0-for-4 for Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Advice: Perdomo played a third consecutive day for Reno and his first nine-inning game in the field. Including time spent in the Arizona Complex League, he's played six games and is 3-for-19. The Diamondbacks are considering roster options for Perdomo's pending return, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. He'll slide back into his starting shortstop position, which puts the focus on Kevin Newman and Blaze Alexander. Rotowire.com Today, 5:19 am

    • Serves as DH on rehab assignment
Perdomo started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with an RBI for Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Advice: Perdomo, who played seven innings at shortstop Wednesday, was in the lineup for a second straight day but got replaced by a pinch hitter after eight innings. Perdomo will continue his rehab assignment through the weekend for Reno and could rejoin the Diamondbacks next week. Arizona begins a homestand Tuesday against the Angels. • Plays seven innings in field
Perdomo (knee) started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in a rehab game with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Advice: Perdomo's rehab moved from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Reno on Wednesday, and the shortstop played seven innings in the field. Per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, the Diamondbacks aren't targeting a specific number of games or at-bats for Perdomo; instead, his return date depends on how he feels. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo confirmed Perdomo won't be activated from the 10-day injured list during the upcoming four-game series against the Padres that begin Thursday, but a return next week could be in the cards. • Reaches career milestone
Turner went 3-for-4 with a double and a run, reaching 1,500 career hits in Wednesday's 3-2 win against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner scored after doubling in the second inning, and he singled in his next at-bat for the 1,500th hit of his major-league career. The veteran has posted a modest .225/.307/.354 slash line through 202 plate appearances in his first campaign with Toronto, though he's maintained his usual solid contact skills with a 16.3 percent strikeout rate. Turner has added four homers, 20 RBI, 19 runs and a 10.1 percent walk rate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:47 pm

    • Moving rehab to Triple-A
Perdomo (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Perdomo was cleared for at-bats in the Arizona Complex League over the weekend, and the club has since determined that he's ready to face stronger competition. He'll likely play at least a few games at Triple-A before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:31 pm

    • Justin Turner rides the pine once again Monday
Justin Turner is once again riding the pine for Monday’s series opener against the Orioles.

Advice: It appears as though Father Time may have caught up to the 39-year-old slugger, as Turner is slashing a miserable .212/.299/.341 on the season with just four homers and 20 RBI. He was even worse in the month of May — hitting a cringe-inducing .111/.210/.139 with zero homers and five RBI. Daniel Vogelbach will function as the Jays’ designated hitter on Monday and will bat cleanup against Grayson Rodriguez and the O’s. Rotoworld Monday, 12:15 pm

    • Taking seat Monday
Turner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner has seen his playing time slip lately amidst his struggles, as he's now been out of the lineup for two of the previous three contests and five of the last 11 games. Daniel Vogelbach will make a third straight start at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:11 pm
