    • Lifts fifth homer
Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

Advice: The homer was Suarez's second hit over six games in June, though both knocks have gone for extra bases. The third baseman hasn't hit for average well in the last five years, but his .202 mark this season is poor even by his usual standard. He's added a .592 OPS, five homers, 28 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases through 62 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:00 pm
    • Continues power surge
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Santander produced the first run of the contest with his solo shot to right field in the second inning. He's gone deep in three of his past five contests to push his season total to 12 long balls. Santander is also working on an eight-game hitting streak during which he's gone 11-for-30 (.367 average) with three homers, six RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:51 pm
    • Provides insurance with homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: This was Arenado's third homer in his last seven games, doubling his total to six long balls on the year. He's gone 6-for-28 (.214) in that seven-game span as he continues to try and put it all together this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Three hits, homer vs. Cincinnati
Diaz went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two additional RBI in a 12-7 loss to the Reds on Wednesday.

Advice: After opening the scoring with an RBI groundout in the first inning, Diaz put the Rockies ahead 5-4 with a solo shot off Nick Martinez before adding a third RBI with a base hit in the seventh. It's the third multi-hit effort in four games for Diaz -- he's gone 7-for-16 in that span. The 33-year-old backstop is off to another strong start this year, slashing .306/.351/.452 with five homers, 27 RBI and 20 runs scored through 202 plate appearances. • Jorge Polanco won’t return when eligible
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) will not return from the injured list when first eligible on Thursday.

Advice: The 30-year-old second baseman has been making progress in his recovery from a mild right hamstring strain, but he’s not close to a return just yet. He has been participating in infield drills and has been taking batting practice, but it sounds like he may ultimately need a game or two on a minor league rehab assignment before he’s ready to rejoin the M’s lineup. • Nick Castellanos homers, Phillies sweep Brewers
Nick Castellanos swatted a two-run homer on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-0 victory over the Brewers.

Advice: Castellanos connected for a 402-foot blast off Brewers southpaw Aaron Ashby in the fifth inning for his eighth big fly of the season. It wound up being the lone tally for either side in a rare low-scoring showdown at Citizens Bank Park and was more than enough run support for Aaron Nola and the Phillies’ bullpen in this one. The 32-year-old corner outfielder has homered twice in this last seven contests since May 29. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:53 pm
    • Provides only offense in win
Castellanos went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Brewers.

Advice: The veteran outfielder provided the game's only offense by taking Aaron Ashby deep in the fifth inning. Castellanos is beginning to climb out of his early season hole, batting .270 (17-for-63) over his last 16 games with four of his eight homers on the season, along with 11 runs and 11 RBI. • Elias Díaz notches three hits, homers in loss
Elias Díaz went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and three RBI on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Reds.

Advice: Díaz did most of his damage in the early stages of the contest when he kicked off the scoring with a first-inning RBI ground out before adding a solo shot in the fifth inning -- his fifth long ball of the season -- and also chipping in a run-scoring single in the seventh inning. The 33-year-old veteran backstop is quietly hitting .306 with 20 runs scored, five homers and 27 RBI this season through 51 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:29 pm

    • Nolan Arenado goes deep, Cardinals edge Astros
Nolan Arenado slugged a solo homer on Wednesday, lifting the Cardinals to a 4-2 victory over the Astros.

Advice: Arenado supplied a key insurance run for the Cardinals’ bullpen with a sixth-inning solo shot off Astros starter Ronel Blanco. It was his sixth round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last seven contests since May 28. The 33-year-old remains stuck in one of the most challenging extended power outages of his career, but he’s shown a bit of a spark lately, and might finally be turning things around. We’ll see.
