• Goes deep, swipes bag
Rojas went 3-for-5 with a home run, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Marlins.

Advice: Rojas knocked an RBI single in the second inning and later swiped second base in the fifth inning. He then went deep with his second homer of the year in the seventh frame. Both homers have come in his last seven appearances after starting the year in a 25-game drought. Rojas is now slashing .234/.281/.336 with eight steals, 10 RBI and six extra-base hits through 115 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
  • Logs quality start
Mize did not factor into the decision Friday against the Astros, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Mize shut out Houston through five innings Friday, eventually allowing one run on a Kyle Tucker solo homer to lead off the sixth. While the Tigers' bullpen couldn't hang on to the lead, it was an impressive outing from Mize after he allowed five runs in a loss to the Yankees in his last start. Overall, the 27-year-old right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB across 37.2 innings this season. Mize is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Marlins in his next start. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Continues dominant run
Suarez (7-0) allowed three hits and two walks over seven shutout frames Friday, striking out nine while earning a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Another day, another terrific outing for Suarez. He took advantage of a nice matchup in Miami by turning in his fourth scoreless start of the year. He punched out a season-high nine batters and let only two Marlins reach scoring position. Suarez has tossed seven consecutive quality starts, earning a win in each. He lowered his ERA to 1.50 with a 55:8 K:BB through 54 frames. Suarez is currently in line for a home matchup with the Mets next week. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
  • Patrick Corbin defeats Red Sox for first victory
Patrick Corbin won for the first time in 2024 after pitching five innings of one-run ball in the Nationals’ 5-1 victory over the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: The Red Sox had one more hit, one more extra-base hit and three more walks than the Nationals tonight, but they went 1-for-9 with RISP and the Nats went 4-for-8. Corbin gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out four. He has a 3.54 ERA over his last four starts after coming in at 8.06 in his first four. Still, that’s no reason for optimism here. • Tanner Houck gives up three runs in loss to Nats
Tanner Houck dropped to 3-4 after surrendering three runs in seven innings Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: It’s absurd that Houck should have a sub-.500 record with a 2.24 ERA, but the Red Sox have totaled four runs in his four losses. This was not Houck at his best tonight; he gave up 11 hard-hit balls and settled for four strikeouts. He’ll face the Rays next. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
  • Victor Robles goes 2-for-4, steals base versus Boston
Starting for the first time in three games since he came off the IL, Victor Robles went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a steal against the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: Robles was held out of the Nationals’ lineup at the beginning of the season because of the baffling decision to roll with Eddie Rosario in center. Now, back from a hamstring strain that cost him a month, he’s been out of the lineup because of Jacob Young’s fine performance in emerging as the primary center fielder. Still, there should be ample room for Robles at the moment with Lane Thomas and Joey Gallo on the IL, Rosario still struggling and Jesse Winker having cooled off after a fast start. It would make sense to give him one last chance and play him most of the time. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
  • Sharp in second win
Valdez (2-1) earned the win Friday over the Tigers, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Valdez allowed two runs on a Matt Vierling double in the third inning before blanking Detroit over his final four frames en route to his second victory of the year. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Valdez, who allowed five runs in a loss to Seattle in his previous start. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.64 with a 1.35 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB across five starts (29.2 innings). Valdez, who has walked only one batter over his past three starts, is currently scheduled for a home matchup with the A's in his next outing. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago
  • Johan Rojas has three hits, homer to lead Phillies
Johan Rojas went 3-for-5 with a homer, stolen base and two RBI on Friday night, leading the Phillies to an 8-2 victory over the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Rojas plated Edmundo Sosa with a run-scoring single off of Trevor Rogers in the second inning that extended the Phillies’ lead to 2-0. He then clobbered a 388-foot (100.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Eli Villalobos in the seventh inning that made it 7-0. With his three-hit attack, the 23-year-old is now hitting .234/.281/.336 with a pair of homers, 10 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago
  • Nick Castellanos goes deep in victory over Marlins
Nick Castellanos clubbed his third home run of the season on Friday night as the Phillies crushed the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Castellanos opened the scoring in the contest with his 400-foot (104.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Trevor Rogers in the second inning. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the night. For the season, the 32-year-old slugger is hitting an underwhelming .207/.268/.303 with just three homers and 13 RBI. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago
