• Game-tying homer Thursday
Bleday went 1-for-6 with a game-tying two-run home run in an extra-innings win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Bleday stepped to the plate in the 11th with the Athletics already having cut a four-point inning-opening deficit in half, and he delivered with a 409-foot shot to center with Abraham Toro aboard to knot the score at 9-9. It was the second consecutive game in which Bleday left the yard, and the clutch homer also extended the outfielder's hitting streak to six games. Bleday has impressively laced 23 of his 44 hits for extra bases this season, and all three components of his .243/.315/.459 slash line are easily all career bests. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

  • Roster spot in jeopardy
Robles could be placed on waivers when Lane Thomas (knee) is deemed ready to come off the injured list, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Advice: Jacob Young has become the everyday center fielder, and while Eddie Rosario and Jesse Winker have been erratic at the plate, they could have trade value later in the season if they heat up at the right time. That leaves Robles, who doesn't have any minor-league options remaining, as the odd man out in the Nationals' outfield. The 27-year-old has done little to justify keeping him on the 40-man roster though, batting .087 (2-for-23) when he's been healthy in 2024. If the front office decides his defensive value as a fifth outfielder is worth keeping around though, Joey Meneses could be optioned instead. Rotowire.com Today, 8:00 am
  • Plays nine innings Thursday
Thomas (knee) went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts for Double-A Harrisburg on Thursday while playing all nine innings in right field.

Advice: It's the first time in three rehab games that Thomas has played a full nine innings. The 28-year-old is 2-for-9 at the plate in those three contests with a double and a stolen base, and per Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports, the Nationals are considering whether to activate him Friday or leave him on his rehab assignment for another couple days to get his timing back at the plate. When Thomas does come off the IL, however, he should immediately slot back into the starting lineup in right field for Washington. Rotowire.com Today, 7:54 am

  • Slugs ninth homer
Varsho went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's rout of the Tigers.

Advice: His seventh-inning long ball off Jack Flaherty broke open what had been a 1-1 pitchers' duel, sending the Blue Jays on their way to an eventual 9-1 victory. Varsho has five multi-RBI performances in the last nine games, and on the season he leads Toronto in both homers (nine) and RBI (27) despite an unimpressive .213/.303/.458 slash line. • Swipes two bags in win
Mullins went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Mullins grounded into a fielder's choice in his first at-bat before going on to steal second and third and coming home for Baltimore's first run of the contest. He would add a single and come around to score during a four-run fourth inning for the Orioles, giving him only his second multi-hit performance this month. Mullins is batting just .160 (8-for-50) in May, though he's swiped four bags over his last five games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:19 am
  • Could return in early June
Robert (hip) could rejoin the White Sox early in June following a full week of rehab games with Triple-A Charlotte, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Robert has played one rehab game with the Arizona Complex League White Sox, homering in that contest. He's slated to join Charlotte on Tuesday to continue ramping things up, and it sounds like he could be activated by the White Sox as soon as June 4 against the Cubs. Robert has been sidelined since early April with a Grade 2 right hip flexor strain. Rotowire.com Today, 6:37 am
  • Swipes bag in loss
Jankowski started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Philadelphia.

Advice: Jankowski got the start in right as Adolis Garcia was limited to DH duties for a second consecutive game. Garcia had missed two games with a right forearm injury and has yet to play the field since returning Wednesday. For Jankowski, who led the Rangers with 19 steals in 2023, it was just his second theft in 33 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 am
  • Not playing field yet
Garcia served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Garcia made a second consecutive start at DH after missing two games with a right forearm injury. It's unclear when he will resume defensive duties, but as long as he's contributing at the plate, that shouldn't matter much. The home run was the team-leading 12th for Garcia, who also leads the Rangers with 36 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 4:45 am
  • Two extra-base hits in win
Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with a triple and a solo homer in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa jumped on the third pitch he saw from Jack Flaherty in the top of the third inning and launched it over the wall in left field to get the Blue Jays on the board. The utility infielder would add a triple in his next at-bat, giving him back-to-back games with two hits after previously riding an 0-for-20 skid. The home run was his third of the season, and two of those have come over his last 11 games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:30 am
