    • Pops fourth homer
Robert went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Robert did his damage in the opening inning to tally his fourth home run of the season and second in four games since returning from the injured list. Manager Pedro Grifol suggested that Robert would require regular rest days, though he has started every matchup since being activated and has gone a combined 3-for-16 with eight strikeouts. • Corbin Carroll records three hits in Arizona’s win
Corbin Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double, a steal and two runs scored as the Diamondbacks edged the Padres 4-3 on Thursday.

Advice: It’s just Carroll’s second three-hit game of the year. All three of Carroll’s hits were legit, leaving his bat on a line at 108, 106 and 99 mph. It’s definitely his most encouraging game in weeks and maybe of the entire season. At .201, he finished the game over the Mendoza Line for the first time since May 12. • Nabs 10th steal
Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

Advice: Carroll's three-hit effort got his batting average over .200 for the first time since May 12. He's opened June by going 5-for-21 (.238) over six contests, and his steal Thursday was his first since May 25. The outfielder is slashing .201/.284/.291 with two home runs, 10 thefts, 20 RBI, 30 runs scored, seven doubles and four triples over 61 games in a so-far disappointing sophomore campaign. • Verdugo gets a day off after tremendous catch
Alex Verdugo is not in the Yankees lineup on Thursday following a tremendous catch to secure Wednesday night’s win over the Twins.

Advice: There is some speculation that Verdugo is a bit banged up after his run-saving catch in left field. There are no indications as of yet that there is any kind of serious injury, but the Yankees are likely just giving him a day to rest up. Trent Grisham will play center field and bat ninth and Aaron Judge will shift to left field. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:29 pm

    • Sitting out Thursday
Verdugo is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Twins.

Advice: It's a rare day off for Verdugo, who is hitless in eight plate appearances in the first two games of the series, although he did contribute a sacrifice fly in Wednesday's contest. Aaron Judge will slide over to left field Thursday while Trent Grisham patrols center. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:14 pm

    • Tyler Freeman gets a day off on Thursday
Tyler Freeman is not in the Guardians’ lineup on Thursday against the Royals.

Advice: It’s just a routine day off for the 25-year-old who continues to start regularly in center field for the Guardians. Freeman has moved back down in the lineup with both Stevan Kwan and Andres Gimenez back, which will hurt his counting stats, but he does have five home runs and eight steals on the year, so he remains valuable in deeper formats. • Getting Thursday off
Freeman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Freeman had been in line to receive Wednesday's game off before that contest was postponed due to inclement weather, but he'll see his streak of 20 consecutive starts come to an official end Thursday. Though he's moved out of the leadoff spot since the Guardians brought back Steven Kwan from the injured list Friday, Freeman has continued to thrive with four hits -- including a game-winning home run Tuesday -- and a stolen base over his last four starts. Utility man Daniel Schneemann will get the nod in center field Thursday in Freeman's stead. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:23 am

    • Remains leadoff against righties
Carroll batted leadoff and went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Carroll was moved down to the eighth in the order the last two games, but that is an adjustment against left-handers only. Last year's NL Rookie of the Year continues to struggle overall, slashing .192/.278/.279 through 259 plate appearances. There are indicators to explain his issues -- fewer barrels and an increase in pop-up rate jump out -- but he's retained good plate discipline and luck appears to be a factor. Carroll's .237 BABIP ranks 142nd among 154 qualified hitters in MLB. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:02 am

    • Taking seat Wednesday
Freeman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though he's moved out of the leadoff spot since the Guardians brought back Steven Kwan from the injured list Friday, Freeman has continued to thrive with four hits -- including a game-winning home run Tuesday -- and a stolen base over his last four games. Utility man Daniel Schneemann will get the nod in center field Wednesday in what looks to be little more than a maintenance day for Freeman, who had started in each of Cleveland's last 20 games.
