      Advice: Gasser is dealing with UCL damage in the elbow and the Brewers are leaving the decision of surgery or rest and rehab up to the left-hander. He's been shut down from throwing for nearly three weeks already, so Gasser is facing a lengthy ramp-up even if he opts for the non-surgical route. The right-hander has rebounded well from a 3.1-inning, nine-run shellacking at the hands of the Orioles on June 1, yielding just three runs over 18 frames across his subsequent three starts.       Advice: Cole surrendered a run on an RBI double by Ryan O'Hearn in the first inning then settled in over the next three. He allowed a single to Cedric Mullins to open the fifth and was pulled after throwing 62 pitches, but Mullins scored on a home run surrendered by Yankees reliever Ron Marinaccio. Cole maxed out at 68 pitches during his minor-league rehab, so the Yankees appear to be easing him into his return. He touched 97 mph on his fastball and generated six swinging strikes in a solid season debut and will look to build up his workload early next week against the Mets.       Gerrit Cole lasted for four-plus innings in his return to the Yankees on Wednesday against the Orioles. He struck out five, walked one, and allowed two earned runs in a loss.

      Advice: Cole was not his sharpest, understandably, in this one. The Orioles are a tough matchup and they made lots of loud contact as Cole struggled with command, especially with his knuckle curve.       Taj Bradley delivered a quality start in a no-decision against the Twins on Wednesday night, allowing just two runs on seven hits over six strong frames.

      Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander punched out three batters in the ballgame while issuing a pair of free passes. The Twins threatened in the third inning and pushed a run across as Trevor Larnach grounded into a double play. They tacked on another run in the sixth inning as Royce Lewis belted a solo home run. Bradley got nine whiffs on 104 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of only 21 percent. He’ll carry a 4.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53/14 K/BB ratio (44 1/3 innings) into Monday’s tilt against the Mariners.
