      Blanco allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Toronto on Wednesday.

      Advice: Blanco fared fine after giving up six runs (three earned) in his previous outing, though fantasy managers in leagues that count quality starts will no doubt be disappointed that he was pulled having tossed 5.2 frames. That hook may have also cost the right-hander a victory, as he had a one-run lead when he was relieved by Tayler Scott, who promptly gave up a single to allow the tying run to cross the plate. While Blanco has posted a modest 8.2 K/9 on the campaign, his overall numbers are strong -- he's recorded a 2.53 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 96 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 12:35 am
       
    • Fans eight in loss
      Rodon allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings in a loss to Cincinnati on Wednesday.

      Advice: Though he logged his fourth straight defeat, this was a bounce-back effort of sorts for Rodon after he surrendered 21 runs (20 earned) over 13.2 innings across his previous three starts. The veteran hurler did, however, continue to struggle with the long ball Wednesday, yielding multiple homers for the third straight outing. Rodon has given up seven home runs during that three-game stretch, and his 18 homers allowed on the campaign is tied for third-most in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 12:23 am
       
    • Opens scoring with homer
      Machado went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Machado has picked up the pace in the power department with five homers over his last 12 contests. He's batting .354 (17-for-48) in that span while adding 14 RBI. The third baseman is up to .264/.314/.411 slash line with 11 homers, 47 RBI, 39 runs scored and five stolen bases over 82 contests. Considering he's exceeded 30 homers seven times in his career, it shouldn't be surprising if he has a big second half in 2024, though his slow start could prevent him from reaching that milestone this year.     • Logan Gilbert gives up four runs in loss
      Logan Gilbert allowed four runs with six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Orioles on Wednesday.

      Advice: Gilbert worked through two quiet innings against the Orioles before things unraveled a bit in the third. He walked two batters to put a pair of runners on for Ryan O’Hearn, who doubled to put the Orioles on the board with two runs. Ryan Mountcastle singled to make it a three run game before Gilbert struck out the final batter to escape the frame. He surrendered one more run on a solo homer by O’Hearn in the fifth and recorded one out in the sixth before his day was done. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 2.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 108/24 K/BB ratio across 117 2/3 innings into a start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday.     • Ronel Blanco uneven in no-decision
      Ronel Blanco lasted 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. He allowed two runs while striking out four and walking two in a no-decision.

      Advice: Blanco was just fine in this one. He had some trouble finding the zone with his breaking balls and the Blue Jays worked some long and tough at-bats against him. He fell one out short of a quality start and the Astros pulled ahead in the seventh inning giving him no chance for the win despite a decent outing.     • Anthony Volpe snaps out of cold spell with two RBI
      Anthony Volpe smacked a two-run double on Wednesday in the Yankees’ loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Volpe got New York on the scoreboard in the seventh inning with a two-run double off Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott. It wasn’t all positive for the young shortstop as he grounded into a key double play in the ninth inning to squash any hope of a Yankees rally against Reds stopper Alexis Díaz. The 23-year-old shortstop has been struggling the last few weeks, batting .212 (29-for-137) with zero homers and only four steals over his last 30 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:08 pm
       
    • Carlos Rodón fans eight, allows two homers in loss
      Carlos Rodón struck out eight and allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Rodón struggled once again to keep the ball in the yard, serving up a two-run homer to Noelvi Marte in the second inning before coughing up a solo shot to Stuart Fairchild a couple frames later. He kept Cincinnati’s lineup in check otherwise, allowing just one additional hit and three walks. The most encouraging development here from a fantasy standpoint was that he piled up an eye-popping 15 swinging strikes, and finished with a 33 percent CSW, despite some diminished velocity across the board. There’s still some work to be done here, but Rodón didn’t look completely cooked in this one, which qualifies as an encouraging development.     • Aaron Judge tops vote getters in American League
      Aaron Judge led all vote getters in Phase 1 of voting for the All-Star Game and was named to his sixth American League All-Star squad on Wednesday.

      Advice: It’s the fourth straight year that Judge will represent the American League in the Mid-Summer Classic.     • Josh Jung won’t return until after All-Star break
      Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Wednesday that Josh Jung (wrist) will be shut down until next week to rest his injured wrist.

      Advice: The Rangers are hopeful that after resting for a few days that he’ll be ready to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. While it’s not a major setback, it does mean that Jung won’t rejoin the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to continue practicing patience in the meantime.
