It continued a renaissance that began mid-May -- Hamilton has an .869 OPS with 17 steals, eight doubles, one triple, four home runs and 13 RBI over the last 36 games. The offensive production has led to Hamilton being a lineup regular, typically at shortstop but sometimes at second base, with the latter an unsettled position at this stage.       Advice: Castro logged his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five games, with the lone exception being Thursday when he started the game on the bench. Batting .290 (20-for-69) in June, Castro has been impressive for the Twins, and it hasn't been just an empty average. He has nine extra-base hits, eight RBI and 13 runs scored over 19 contests this month.       David Hamilton is not in the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Friday night’s soiree against the Reds in Cincinnati.

      Advice: The 26-year-old speedster has been battling discomfort in his left side, so it’s possible that they’re just easing him back into action. Or if could be that the Red Sox are facing a left-handed starter in Andrew Abbott. Either way, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see him pinch-run and still swipe a bag or two on Friday night before all is said and done. The power is obviously really nice, but the poor team context around him is keeping his counting stats a little low given his home run total. He has also never hit for a high batting average and is still under .250 even with the power, so he’s really just an add if you’re looking for home runs from your middle infield spot.       Advice: He'll receive a breather for the day game after a night game, opening up a turn at shortstop for Nicky Lopez. DeJong had started each of the White Sox's previous 21 games and was one of the team's most productive hitters over that stretch, batting .235 with 11 extra-base hits (seven home runs, four doubles), 12 RBI and 10 runs.
