• To be investigated by MLB
Major League Baseball intends to open an investigation into a reported gambling situation involving Fletcher and bookmaker Mathew Bowyer, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Per Tisha Thompson of ESPN, Fletcher placed bets on multiple sports but did not bet on baseball. MLB allows players to bet on other sports, but doing so through illegal bookmakers such as Bowyer -- the same bookmaker used by Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara -- is prohibited and punishable at the discretion of the commissioner. Fletcher is currently not facing discipline but is expected to be investigated by Major League Baseball soon. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Joey Ortiz picks up three hits, three-run homer
Joey Ortiz hit a three-run homer while going 3-for-4 in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: Ortiz also doubled, with the only damper on the evening being a caught stealing. The former Baltimore top prospect has been a big part of Milwaukee’s success, as this is the fifth homer for the 25-year-old and he’s slashing .296/.397/.561 for good measure. It was understandable for those who were skeptical of Ortiz as a fantasy option coming into the year, but this is no longer all that small of sample. It’s time to take him seriously. • Jeremy Peña hits three-run blast in win over MIL
Jeremy Peña hit a three-run homer to help the Astros to a 5-4 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Peña came up huge for the Astros with a three-run homer off Freddy Peralta that gave the Astros their 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. The shortstop has enjoyed a strong first six-plus weeks of the season, as he’s gone deep five times while slashing .326/.364/.469. This is the version of Peña fantasy managers were hoping to see in 2023. So far, so good in 2024. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Davis Schneider homers in loss
Davis Schneider hit a two-run home run in a loss to the Rays on Friday.

Advice: As has been the story for most of this season, Schneider was the lone bright spot for the Jays’ offense on Friday. The home run was his fifth of the season and his 13 BB% and 145 wRC+ suggest he could move up in order permanently if the Blue Jays ever want to relieve George Springer of his lead-off duties. • Richie Palacios hits two-run homer in win
Richie Palacios went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Rays win over the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Palacios has become a highly productive lineup fixture for the Rays, only sitting against three right-handed pitchers this season. The home run was his fourth along with six stolen bases. Friday also marked his ninth start at second base. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

  • Pops fourth homer
Fry went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over the Twins.

Advice: Fry put Cleveland ahead with his 364-foot, two-run home run in the sixth inning off reliever Steven Okert. The 28-year-old utility man has been especially hot since the calendar turned to May, hitting .366 (11-for-30) this month. Over 95 plate appearances this season, Fry is slashing .333/.453/.560 with four homers, 15 runs scored and 14 RBI. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

  • Travis d’Arnaud leaves game with head contusion
Travis d’Arnaud was pulled from Friday night’s battle against the Padres due to a head contusion.

Advice: The 35-year-old backstop was dizzy after taking a foul ball off of his mask, prompting his removal from the game. The good news, is that he passed the initial concussion tests without issue, but he will be evaluated again on Saturday before the team makes a determination on his status. For now, he should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago

  • Triple, home run in win
Henderson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an RBI triple and a second run scored in Friday's 9-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Henderson led off the game with a solo shot off Bryce Miller, his 13th homer of the year, before driving in a second run with an opposite-field triple in the seventh inning. While Henderson's gotten off to a great start this year, he'd been slumping a bit coming into Friday's contest, going 0-for-11 in his prior three games. Overall, the 22-year-old shortstop is slashing .263/.339/.569 with 29 RBI, 32 runs scored and six steals across 189 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:09 pm

  • Aaron Judge homers again in win
Aaron Judge went 1-for-1 with a solo home run and three walks in a win over the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Judge has been retired just once in three games as his scalding hot streak continues. He has six home runs in his last 46 at-bats and his .981 OPS is suddenly sixth among all qualified hitters. Rotoworld Today, 7:06 pm
