    • Settles for no-decision Monday
King allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: King pitched very well in the outing, but San Diego wasn't able to put its second run on the board until the seventh frame, preventing him from picking up a second consecutive victory. The only run the right-hander allowed came on a third-inning homer by Jazz Chisholm. King has given up one or zero runs in three of his past five starts and has racked up a 34:8 K:BB across 30 innings over that span. He's tentatively slated to make his next start in Kansas City. • King strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Michael King allowed one run in five innings and got a no-decision in the Padres’ 2-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: King allowed three hits, one walk and struck out seven. He left the game with the score tied after five innings. King’s ERA is now 4.09 on the season. His 74 strikeouts this year rank among the top 10 in all of baseball. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road this weekend.

    • Tosses clean rehab inning
Phillips (hamstring) retired all three batters he faced -- including two by strikeout -- in a rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday.

Advice: Phillips needed just 11 pitches to get through the frame. The appearance was the first for the closer since he went on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain May 5. Phillips will likely get in one or two more rehab outings before he's deemed ready to return to closing duties with the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:45 pm

    • Alexis Díaz fans two to earn 10th save
Alexis Díaz struck out both batters he faced for a save Sunday against the Dodgers.

Advice: The Reds were up 4-0 to start the ninth, so Díaz didn’t enter then. Instead, he came in after Carson Spiers allowed Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman to reach with one out, creating the save opportunity. Díaz then retired Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages to end the game. It was the 10th save in 12 opportunities for Díaz, who came into the day having allowed eight earned runs in 7 2/3 innings this month. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:29 pm

    • Grabs 10th save
Diaz struck out both batters he faced to pick up his 10th save of the season Sunday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Diaz closed the door on the Dodgers for the second consecutive game, though he ran both counts full and needed 16 pitches to record the final two outs. It was the fourth consecutive scoreless outing for Diaz, who appears to be turning things around after allowing 17 baserunners and 10 runs (nine earned) while blowing a save and earning two losses over his previous seven appearances spanning 5.2 innings between April 29 and May 19. • Evan Phillips fires perfect inning in rehab outing
Evan Phillips (hamstring) fired a perfect inning in his first minor league rehab appearance at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday.

Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander needed just 11 pitches to retire the side in order — getting a pair of strikeouts and a ground out. He may only need one additional rehab appearance before he’s deemed ready to rejoin the Dodgers’ bullpen. Expect him back at some point next week. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:17 pm

    • Beginning rehab assignment
Phillips (hamstring) is scheduled to pitch in a rehab game Sunday with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: Phillips will require multiple rehab outings before coming off the 15-day injured list, and Sunday's scheduled appearance will mark the first of these. Daniel Hudson recorded the last Dodgers save May 20, and Phillips will presumably return to the closing role once he's active. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:23 pm

    • Blows another save Saturday
Diaz gave up a run on two hits and struck out one in the ninth inning Saturday, blowing his fourth save of the season in a 7-2 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: After the right-hander tossed a scoreless inning and recorded a hold Friday, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza gave Diaz another shot at closing with the team clinging to a 2-1 lead. He couldn't get the job done, giving up two singles with a stolen base in between to tie the game before Sean Reid-Foley and Josh Walker combined for a disastrous 10th inning. Diaz has blown three straight save chances and four of five since May 5, stumbling to an 11.05 ERA in 7.1 innings over that stretch despite an 11:3 K:BB. Diaz last had struggles like this in 2019 and was eventually able to find his form again, but the Mets will be hard-pressed to use him in high-leverage spots until he shows some consistency. • Earns ninth save
Diaz threw a perfect ninth inning against the Dodgers on Saturday to secure his ninth save of the season.

Advice: Diaz sat down Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Teoscar Hernandez on a total of seven pitches to nail down the win for starter Hunter Greene. While Diaz still has an ugly 5.95 ERA this season, his job as the Reds' closer is not in jeopardy. He's squandered just one save in his last 10 chances, and with only two hits and two walks allowed in his last four appearances, Diaz seems to have turned the page after a rough stretch in mid-May.
