    • Mets demoting Baty to Triple-A
Mets optioned 3B Brett Baty to Triple-A Syracuse, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Advice: Baty hit .225 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 49 games with the Mets. He was splitting time at third base with Mark Vientos. Vientos is hitting .295 with three home runs in 14 games. He figures to see a larger share of playing time with Baty in the minors. Rotoworld Today, 7:50 am

    • Whiffs five in second rehab start
Cavalli (elbow) gave up two earned runs on no hits and three walks while striking out five over 2.2 innings Thursday in his rehab start with High-A Wilmington.

Advice: Cavalli, who is on the mend from March 2023 Tommy John surgery, made the second appearance of his rehab assignment Thursday after previously covering 2.2 scoreless innings in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on May 20. Though he didn't allow a hit Thursday, Cavalli struggled with his control. In addition to issuing three walks, Cavalli spotted 30 of his 54 pitches for strikes, hit a batter and threw two wild pitches. He'll look to iron out his control in the subsequent starts during his rehab assignment, which is likely to last until around mid-June. Rotowire.com Today, 7:47 am

    • Demoted to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Baty to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Baty is slashing just .225/.304/.325 this season and has struck out at 34.7 percent clip in May. With the emergence of Mark Vientos (.295/.354/.591), the Mets have elected to send Baty back to the minors in hopes of getting his swing right. Vientos will take over as the club's everyday third baseman. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 am

    • Logs 20th steal
Caballero went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts, two runs scored and a stolen base Thursday against the Athletics.

Advice: This line is indicative of Caballero's skill set, as he's striking out at a 29.3 percent clip and has just a .306 on-base percentage. However, he has already racked up 20 stolen bases, only the second player to hit that mark at this point in the campaign. Caballero's playing time could be in danger upon the return of Taylor Walls (hip), but for now, he fills a key role for both the Rays and fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Today, 7:34 am
    • Steals 17th bag
Young went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 24-year-old center fielder has heated up again, batting .345 (10-for-29) over the last 10 games. Young remains limited as a fantasy asset -- he has yet to hit a homer this year and has a 4.5 percent walk rate -- but he tends to take full advantage when he does get on base. He's slashing .279/.338/.329 through 46 big-league games with 17 steals in 20 attempts, plus 14 RBI and 25 runs. Rotowire.com Today, 7:25 am

    • Cade Cavalli (elbow) fans five in rehab outing
Cade Cavalli (elbow) allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings on Thursday in a minor league rehab start for High-A Wilmington.

Advice: Cavalli struck out five, issued three walks and threw 54 pitches (30 strikes) in his latest rehab outing. The 25-year-old righty, who is in the final stages of his rehabilitation process from last year’s Tommy John surgery, is still a couple weeks from making it back to Washington. • Josh Hader fans two in non-save situation vs. M’s
Josh Hader struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Mariners.

Advice: Hader got the call to protect a four-run advantage in a non-save situation and made things interesting by giving up singles to Julio Rodríguez and Ty France before striking out Dominic Canzone and getting Mitch Haniger to ground out to extinguish the threat. The 30-year-old lefty has allowed just two runs with a 20/4 K/BB ratio across 11 appearances since the start of May. Simply put, he remains one of the few elite closers in the fantasy landscape. • Absent from lineup versus lefty
Garcia is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Atlanta.

Advice: Southpaw Ray Kerr is drawing the start for Atlanta, so the left-handed hitting Garcia will defer to switch hitter Ildemaro Vargas at second base. Garcia is slashing just .194/.265/.226 versus lefties this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:37 pm
    • Two hits in win
Frelick went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 6-4 win against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Frelick singled and came around to score on a Joey Ortiz double in the second inning and added another base hit in the fourth. Frelick has had a part-time role recently, playing against right-handed pitchers and sitting against most lefties. Since May 20, he has started five of a possible 10 games while hitting seventh in the Brewers lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:10 pm
