    • Logan Gilbert allows eight over four against Twins
Logan Gilbert was shelled for eight runs in four innings while picking up a loss to the Twins on Friday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed nine hits with two walks while adding for strikeouts. To say the right-hander was a disappointment was an understatement, as he entered this outing with a sensational 1.69 ERA over 48 innings. That ERA immediately took a hit with five runs allowed in the first, and three more crossed the plate before ending his 91-pitch day. The Twins are on fire and Gilbert was due for a poor outing, but this is still not one fantasy managers could have seen coming. He’ll be back on the bump against the Royals on Tuesday. • Drives in four in twin bill
Heim went 2-for-7 with a walk, two runs scored and four RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the A's.

Advice: After going 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly as the DH in the matinee, Heim moved behind the plate for the nightcap and drove in three more runs. The 28-year-old catcher has four multi-hit performances in his last seven games, a surge that has boosted his slash line on the season to .300/.341/.425 with four homers, 18 runs and 26 RBI through 33 contests. • Roughed up again Wednesday
Leiter escaped with a no-decision in a 12-11 win over the A's in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, coughing up six runs (four earned) on seven hits over four innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Advice: The rookie right-hander once again didn't look ready for the majors, serving up homers to Shea Langeliers and Tyler Soderstrom before getting the hook after 60 pitches (44 strikes). Leiter has taken a big step forward this season at Triple-A, but he's been tagged for 13 runs (11 earned) in his first 7.2 big-league innings, and the Rangers may look elsewhere for short-term rotation help rather than damage the 24-year-old's confidence any further. • Smacks third home run
Castro went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI during Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: The 27-year-old hit a solo shot off George Kirby in the second inning to break an 0-for-11 stretch at the plate, and Castro's RBI triple in the fourth gave the Twins some extra insurance, making it a 4-1 ballgame. Castro is now slashing .346/.370/.692 with three RBI and three stolen bases across his last seven games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:23 pm

    • Allows one hit in seven frames
Cease (5-2) picked up the win Wednesday against the Cubs, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out 12.

Advice: Cease fell one K shy of his career high in strikeouts and only allowed four total baserunners -- an infield single, two walks and a hit-by-pitch -- en route to his fifth win of his last six starts. He's been making a case for the NL Cy Young in his first season with the Padres, earning a 2.19 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 49.1 innings pitched. Cease will look to add to his already impressive 2024 resume in a projected home start Tuesday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:57 pm

    • Willi Castro homers and triples in win Wednesday
Willi Castro went 2-for-3 with a home run, triple, and two RBI in a 6-3 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Castro snapped an 0-for-11 run, extending the Twins’ lead with a solo homer off George Kirby in the second inning. He drove in a second run with a triple in the fourth. The versatile 27-year-old is hitting a solid .273/.336/.471 with three homers, 18 runs scored, 14 RBI, and five steals across 134 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:39 pm

    • Steps in to close out game
McArthur picked up the save Wednesday against the Brewers after a perfect two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: The ball was handed to Tyler Duffey for the ninth, but after Duffey walked two batters and gave up a double to Brice Turang, McArthur was forced to step in and close the door. The save snapped McArthur out of a two-game slump in which he allowed five runs (four earned) and was charged with two blown saves and two losses. McArthur now has eight saves on the season, which is tied for the fourth most in the AL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:28 pm
    • Doubles twice, scores in loss
Carpenter went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Carpenter continued his solid play this season, as he's now batting .269 with an .801 OPS. He's collected eight doubles so far but only three home runs across 36 games. After breaking out for 20 long balls last year, Carpenter could dial up the power soon, which would only further enhance his fantasy value. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:28 pm

    • Jack Leiter hit for six runs in no-decision
Jack Leiter allowed six runs -- four earned -- with three strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision against the A’s on Wednesday.

Advice: Leiter’s second start of the season wasn’t much better than his first. After a clean first inning, Leiter gave up a two-run homer to Shea Langeliers to start the second. A throwing error in the third allowed a third run to score before Langeliers plated a fourth with a groundout. Tyler Soderstrom later took Leiter deep for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The fourth inning would end it for Leiter, who’s give up 11 earned runs over his first two starts. It’s possible the 24-year-old right-hander will retreat back to Triple-A.
