    • Not starting against Yanks
Rosario is not in the starting lineup for Friday's matchup against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder has been the go-to second basemen for Tampa Bay recently as they've been dealing with an injured Brandon Lowe (oblique), but Rosario will start from the dugout Friday. He currently sports a .301 average with 15 RBI, and Richie Palacios will get the start at second base and will bat seventh in the lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 12:33 pm

    • Another dreadful outing
Detmers (3-4) was hit with the loss against the Royals on Thursday, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings.

Advice: Detmers cruised through the first two innings before failing to retire either of the first four batters to open the third, eventually leading to four runs coming across for Kansas City. He was touched up again in the fifth for another two runs, marking his third consecutive outing in which he's allowed at least five runs. Surprisingly, the lefty has still managed to get through at least five innings in all eight of his starts this season despite his recent struggles, though he's now lost each of his last four decisions (spanning four starts). • Goes deep in loss
Volpe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Astros on Thursday.

Advice: Volpe accounted for New York's first scores with a two-run blast to right field in the third inning. It was his second homer in his past three contests following a 25-game stretch during which he went deep just once. Volpe is still batting just .200 through eight games in May, but he's held onto the leadoff spot, batting first in the order in all of the Yankees' contests so far this month. • Reid Detmers surrenders six runs in loss
Reid Detmers was tagged for six runs in five innings Thursday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: Detmers gave up a pair of two-run homers to Dairon Blanco and Vinnie Pasquantino in a four-run third. He wasn’t bad otherwise — he allowed just two other hard-hit balls — but luck wasn’t on his side tonight. He’s lost four straight games after opening up 3-0, and his ERA stands at 4.96. Still, his peripherals are solid, and it would be a bad idea to drop him in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Anthony Volpe crushes two-run homer in loss
Anthony Volpe went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Thursday in the Yankees’ loss to the Astros.

Advice: Volpe connected for a two-run opposite-field shot into the right-field corner off Astros starter Ronel Blanco in the third inning. It was his fifth round-tripper of the season and second time he’s left the yard in his last three contests. The 23-year-old shortstop has made an effort to flatten his swing and employ an all-fields approach this season, but is still hitting for some over-the-fence pop, while also significantly improving his batting average. • Bryan Woo set to return on Friday against A’s
Bryan Woo (elbow) will start on Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Woo will make his return to Seattle’s starting rotation after missing the opening six weeks of the regular season recovering from right elbow inflammation. The 24-year-old righty was sharp in his latest rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma with six strikeouts over five scoreless frames and shouldn’t have any workload restrictions in his season debut. It’s an extremely tasty matchup, which makes Woo a viable option for fantasy managers in all formats right out of the gate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:33 pm

    • Starting Friday
Woo (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Athletics, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Advice: Woo has been on the injured list all year due to right elbow inflammation, but he has now been given the green light to make his season debut with the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty did not give up a run through 11.1 innings during his three rehab starts at Triple-A Tacoma, and he managed to strikeout 17 batters while walking none. Emerson Hancock is expected to be optioned to Tacoma once Woo is activated. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:09 pm

    • Sitting out with sore foot
Giants manager Bob Melvin said Lee is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Colorado due to a sore foot which is the result of a foul ball off his leg in Wednesday's contest, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lee is receiving treatment and will be reevaluated Friday to see if he's ready to play then. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. Austin Slater is occupying center field in Lee's stead Thursday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:04 am

    • Jung Hoo Lee out of Thursday’s lineup
Jung Hoo Lee is not in the starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Rockies due to a sore foot.

Advice: Lee was hit in the foot after he fouled off a ball on Wednesday, so the 25-year-old will take the day off to get right. The rookie outfielder is slashing .262/.310/.331 with two homers and eight RBI across 145 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 am
