    • Sonny Gray yields five runs to Angels in win
Sonny Gray won despite giving up five runs in six innings Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Gray had a 0.89 ERA after five starts, but he’s given up 11 runs in his last two outings, putting him at 3.05. On the plus side, he still has an impressive 53/8 K/BB ratio in 41 1/3 innings. We ‘re not very concerned at this point; Gray will likely get hurt against eventually, but he should be plenty good until then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm
    • Allows five runs in win
Gray (5-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Angels, giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Gray was shaky for a second straight start, but he at least got ample run support this time around. The Cardinals took a 5-0 lead in the third inning, which Gray gave back by the end of the fifth. He ended up with the win after Alec Burleson's two-run home run put St. Louis ahead for good in the top of the seventh. Gray is now at a 3.05 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 53:8 K:BB over 41.1 innings across seven starts this season. The veteran right-hander is projected to face the Orioles in a tough home start in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:22 pm
    • Cruises with seven scoreless frames
Kirby (4-3) earned the win over Kansas City on Monday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six batters over seven scoreless innings.

Advice: Kirby was shaky to begin his outing, allowing a single to the second hitter he faced and then loading the bases on consecutive hit-by-pitches. He worked his way out of that threat, though, and yielded just two harmless singles the rest of the way to finish with his fourth scoreless start of the campaign. The right-hander had an 8.16 ERA through three starts this season but has lowered that to 3.58 by giving up two or fewer runs in five of his subsequent six appearances. He's registered four quality starts over that stretch. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:17 pm

    • George Kirby blanks Royals over seven in victory
George Kirby held the Royals to three hits with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings to help the Mariners to a win Monday by a 6-2 score.

Advice: After struggling for the majority of his start against the Twins, Kirby bounced back nicely. As is usually the case, he didn’t put on any runners via walk, and he pounded the strike zone with 68-of-101 pitches going for strikes. When Kirby doesn’t have his best stuff/command the results can be problematic. He usually does. Kirby will face the Orioles next. Rotoworld Monday, 9:17 pm

    • Too wild Sunday
Harrison allowed three runs on three hits and five walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Walks have become an issue for Harrison in May -- he's issued 12 of them over 17 innings across his last three starts while adding 14 strikeouts in that span. The Reds weren't fully able to capitalize Sunday, scraping together three runs in the first inning but leaving four runners on base over the next four frames before finding more luck against the Giants' bullpen. Harrison has allowed just four runs over his last 23 innings and now has a 3.42 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 45:17 K:BB through 50 innings across nine starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Rockies. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:10 pm

    • Kyle Harrison walks five in no-decision
Kyle Harrison allowed three runs in five innings Sunday in a no-decision versus the Reds.

Advice: All of the runs came in the first, which featured a hit by pitch, two walks and then a near-grand slam from Jeimer Candelario that instead resulted in a bases-clearing double. Harrison went on to allow just one hard-hit ball over the subsequent four innings, but he did walk three more batters. He’s walked 12 in his three starts this month, but he has a 2.12 ERA in the process. In April, he walked a total of five batters in six starts, though he had a 4.09 ERA then. Now he just needs to put it all together. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:56 pm

    • Strikes out eight in return from IL
Luzardo (0-3) took the loss Saturday versus the Phillies, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over 5.2 innings. He recorded eight strikeouts.

Advice: Luzardo looked sharp in his return from the injured list, striking out eight while picking up an impressive 18 swinging strikes on just 79 pitches. He might have tired a bit in the sixth, as he gave up a double and a game-tying RBI single before being lifted with two outs and a runner on. That runner came around to score, adding another run to his ledger. While the ending of his night wasn't ideal, it was an encouraging performance from Luzardo against a tough lineup. His next start will come at home versus the Mets. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:05 pm
    • Marlins activate Jesús Luzardo for Saturday start
Marlins activated LHP Jesús Luzardo from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Luzardo will take the ball for Saturday’s showdown against the division-rival Phillies at loanDepot park following a two-week absence due to a flexor strain in his left elbow. The 26-year-old southpaw has been one of the few positives in an otherwise dismal campaign for Miami and should provide a significant lift to a struggling starting rotation. Unfortunately, his results have been less than spectacular with a lackluster 24.1 percent strikeout rate and bloated 5.07 FIP. It’s not what you want. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:22 am
    • Reinstated from IL
The Marlins reinstated Luzardo (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Luzardo made one start during his rehab assignment, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings with one hit, one walk and six strikeouts with Single-A Jupiter on May 5. The 26-year-old southpaw will waste no time getting into major-league action and is starting Saturday against Philadelphia. Before landing on the IL, Luzardo was 0-2 over five starts with a 6.58 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB over 26 innings. In a corresponding move, the Marlins optioned right-hander Eli Villalobos to Triple-Jacksonville. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:09 am
