    • Lamonte Wade Jr. coming off IL on Thursday
According to MLB.com’s Maria I. Guardado, the Giants will activate 1B/OF Lamonte Wade Jr. (hamstring) from the 10-day IL on Friday.

Advice: The veteran was placed on the IL at the end of May and will have missed about four weeks. Wade has a tremendous on-base percentage and will return to an everyday role against right-handed pitching. That will send David Villar back to the bench. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:27 am

    • Poised to come off IL Friday
Wade (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Wade has been sidelined for the past month with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain but has been cleared to return after playing three rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento, going 1-for-7 with a 2:4 K:BB. The 30-year-old has slashed a robust .333/.470/.426 for the Giants this season and will go back to receiving regular starts at first base against right-handed pitching. • Returning Thursday
Arcia (head) will start at shortstop Thursday against the White Sox, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Arcia has been held out of action since being pulled from Monday's game due to dizziness. Now that the issue has subsided, he'll return to his role as Atlanta's shortstop and look to get back on track after going just 1-for-19 with seven strikeouts across his last six contests. • Orlando Arcia back in the starting lineup
Orlando Arcia is back in the starting lineup for the Braves on Thursday against the White Sox.

Advice: Arcia had missed the last two days while battling an illness, but he’s back in the lineup and hitting ninth on Thursday. The veteran is a consistent presence in the Braves’ lineup, but he’s not playing well this season, hitting .212/.243/.343 with six home runs in 292 plate appearances. He can be left on waiver wires in most leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 am
    • Playing time drying up
Martin is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Martin had previously made starts in five consecutive games at three different positions from June 16 through June 21, but his playing time has since trended downward while the Twins have had all regular members of their lineup available. He'll be on the bench for the fourth time in five contests and will likely see limited opportunities moving forward, unless an injury opens up a path to a starting role. • Makes season debut
Soto served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Soto made his first appearance for the Reds since being recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. With Noelvi Marte (suspension) expected to be reinstated Thursday, Soto could return to Louisville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:15 am

    • Sitting during nightcap
Carpenter isn't in the Cardinals' lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Atlanta.

Advice: Carpenter went 1-for-1 with a single and a sacrifice fly during a loss in Game 1, and the Cardinals will give him a breather to conclude Wednesday's activities. Willson Contreras will instead serve as St. Louis' DH while Pedro Pages starts behind the plate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:20 pm
    • Sitting Game 2
Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Advice: The 29-year-old exited Monday's contest due to dizziness and won't start the night game of Wednesday's twin bill. Luke Williams will start at shortstop in place of Arcia for the nightcap. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:14 pm
    • Candelario dealing with hamstring tendinitis
Reds’ manager David Bell told reporters that Jeimer Candelario was held out of the team’s starting lineup on Wednesday due to hamstring tendinitis.

Advice: The injury isn’t believed to be serious, and sounds like something the 30-year-old slugger has been dealing with for a while. He’s considered day-to-day. On the season, Candelario is slashing a respectable .245/.298/.480 with 14 homers, 39 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:02 pm
