    • Expecting to make next start
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said after Saturday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Padres that Pfaadt (ankle) expects to make his next start, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Pfaadt was pulled midway through the fifth inning Saturday after he was struck in the left ankle by a 98-mile-per-hour comebacker. Fortunately for Pfaadt, X-rays returned negative and he was diagnosed with little more than a bruise, but the Diamondbacks want to check back in with the right-hander Sunday to make sure that his condition hasn't taken a turn for the worse. Pfaadt tentatively lines up to make his next turn through the Arizona rotation Thursday versus Atlanta. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
    • Takes third loss in quality start
Lugo (11-3) was tagged with the loss against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Lugo allowed baserunners in five of his six innings of work but managed to limit the damage to three runs (two earned) as Kansas City's offense struggled to get any momentum going behind him. The right-hander induced 15 swings and misses on the night and has now recorded at least five strikeouts in four consecutive starts. Lugo has also posted quality starts in five straight and hasn't given up more than two runs in each of his last five outings. His 2.21 ERA on the season currently leads the majors, while his 11 wins also have him tied with Chris Sale for the league lead. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

    • Lasts four innings in no-decision
Peralta did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over four innings while striking out four.

Advice: All three runs against Peralta came in the opening frame when he surrendered a two-run shot to Will Smith and failed to retire any of the first four batters he faced. The right-hander held the Dodgers scoreless over the next three innings but would not return for the fifth after reaching 104 pitches. Peralta had gone at least five innings four straight outings coming in, though he's now issued multiple walks in each of his last four. On the bright side, he also induced 21 whiffs on the night despite posting just four strikeouts. Rotowire.com Today, 5:36 am
    • Ha-Seong Kim notches three hits, RBI in loss
Ha-Seong Kim went 3-for-5 with a game-tying RBI double on Saturday in the Padres’ extra-inning loss at the hands of the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim came through with a clutch game-tying double in the eighth inning off Diamondbacks reliever Ryan Thompson, that wound up eventually sending the contest to extra innings. The 28-year-old infielder has just three homers and four steals over his last 30 games, but he’s already at 10 homers and 17 thefts overall this season through 91 games leading into the All-Star break. • Seth Lugo allows three runs in loss to Rockies
Seth Lugo was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Saturday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Lugo fell behind early when he surrendered a two-run homer to Rockies emerging star Brenton Doyle in the second inning. He managed to limit the damage to just a run-scoring single by Ryan McMahon in the fifth-inning, but it was enough to saddle him with a loss for just the third time this year. The 34-year-old righty is tied with Braves ace Chris Sale with a major league-leading 11 wins this season to accompany a sparkling 2.21 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 110/29 K/BB ratio across 122 innings (19 starts). There’s some regression looming, but he’s been a revelation this season in his Kansas City debut. He’ll wrap up the first half on Saturday with a road matchup against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. • Diagnosed with bruised ankle
Pfaadt was removed in the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Padres due to a left ankle contusion. He struck out six over 4.1 innings and gave up one earned run on seven hits and zero walks before exiting.

Advice: Pfaadt was pulled immediately after he was hit on the ankle by a 98-mile-per-hour comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez. The Diamondbacks have labeled the injury as a bruise after X-rays on Pfaadt's ankle returned negative, but the right-hander will continue to be evaluated in the coming days. He's tentatively scheduled to make one more start before the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:47 pm
    • Collects save Saturday
Clase walked one and struck out none over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Clase has earned six saves and a win during his active nine-inning scoreless streak. He's added a 5:2 K:BB in that span. The closer is 26-for-29 in save chances this year with a 0.65 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB across 41.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:47 pm
    • Brandon Pfaadt exits after being hit by comebacker
Brandon Pfaadt was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Padres in the fifth inning after taking a 98-mph comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez off of his left foot/ankle.

Advice: He’ll presumably head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. Prior to exiting, Pfaadt had allowed just one run on seven hits while punching out six opposing batters over his 4 1/3 innings of work. He also had a 2-1 advantage and lost his shot at a victory with his early removal. The Diamondbacks should have an update on his status before the night is through. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:20 pm
    • Hit by comebacker, leaves game
Pfaadt was removed from Saturday's game against the Padres after being struck in the foot by a comebacker in the fifth inning, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Luis Arraez hit a 98 mph comebacker at Pfaadt that ended up hitting the 25-year-old pitcher in the left foot/ankle area. Pfaadt allowed one run on seven hits and no walks with six strikeouts over 4.1 innings prior to exiting. The Diamondbacks will likely send Pfaadt in for imaging and we should know more about his health postgame. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 pm
