    • Ha-Seong Kim swats three-run homer in blowout
Ha-Seong Kim hit a three-run homer in a blowout win for the Padres on Saturday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim also walked. The shortstop’s three-run blast extended San Diego’s lead to 4-0 and gave Kim nine on the 2024 campaign. Kim has provided some power/speed over the first two-plus months of the season, and it’s helped made up for a batting average of just .224. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:09 pm

    • Homers in back-to-back games
Kim went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 13-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim has gone deep in back-to-back games, and he's logged seven extra-base hits among his 10 knocks over the last 10 games. The shortstop started the season slow, but it appears he's starting to find a groove. He's up to nine homers, 32 RBI, 35 runs scored, 13 stolen bases and a .224/.333/.404 slash line through 67 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:43 pm

    • Battling back soreness
Marte was scratched from Arizona's lineup Saturday due to lower-back soreness, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Marte appeared to tweak something in his back during Friday's contest, and he'll sit down Saturday as a precaution. He is available off the bench, however, so his injury likely isn't a major issue. Blaze Alexander will start at second base and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:43 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Marte (undisclosed) was scratched from Arizona's lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Padres.

Advice: The Diamondbacks have not yet provided a reason for Marte's removal from the lineup, but they should offer some clarity relatively soon. Blaze Alexander will enter as the replacement second baseman while batting sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:27 pm

    • Ketel Marte (back) scratched from D’Backs’ lineup
Ketel Marte (back) was scratched from the Diamondbacks’ starting lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Padres.

Advice: Marte appeared to tweak his back during his final at-bat on Friday night and that seems to be the reason that he was scratched from Saturday’s lineup. The fact that he was in the initial lineup is at least encouraging though, so he should be considered day-to-day until we hear otherwise. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:27 pm

    • Ketel Marte crushes 13th homer in blowout loss
Ketel Marte walloped a two-run homer on Friday in the Diamondbacks’ one-sided loss at the hands of the Padres.

Advice: Marte broke up a potential shutout with a seventh-inning blast off Padres reliever Wandy Peralta for his 13th big fly of the season. The 30-year-old second baseman has been a model of consistency in an otherwise turbulent campaign for the defending National League champions this season, batting .282 with 41 runs scored, 13 homers, 35 RBI and one steal through 63 games. Unfortunately, the stolen bases probably aren’t ever coming back to his early-career level, but he remains a reliable four-category fantasy contributor at the keystone in the prime of his career. • Crushes homer in loss
Marte went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Padres.

Advice: The second baseman is on a roll to begin June, going 11-for-26 (.423) with three homers and six RBI over his first seven games this month. Marte is up to 13 long balls, 35 RBI, 41 runs scored, one stolen base and a .282/.340/.508 slash line over 63 contests this season. He's topped the 20-homer mark just twice in his first nine major-league seasons, but he's on pace to do it for the second year in a row. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:50 pm

    • Breaks slump Friday
Kim went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kim went 0-for-10 with two walks over the previous three games before breaking out Friday. The homer was his eighth of the year but just his second over the last 18 contests. The shortstop has a .223/.332/.393 slash line with 29 RBI, 34 runs scored and 13 stolen bases through 66 games. While his ratios are a bit adrift compared to his last two seasons, Kim continues to hold down a starting role and is delivering solid production in the counting stats. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:25 pm

    • Stays hot in win
Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 4-3 win over San Diego.

Advice: Marte delivered the go-ahead run in the seventh inning when his two-out single plated Corbin Carroll. Marte has rebounded nicely from an 0-for-22 skid in late May, going 11-for-28 (.393) with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI and five runs scored over the last eight contests. The Diamondbacks' offense could get a boost if the struggling Carroll can build off his three-hit performance Thursday, which would give Marte more run-producing opportunities.
