    • Corbin Carroll (side) leading off Tuesday vs. Nats
Corbin Carroll (side) is leading off and playing center field against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Carroll is back in the lineup after leaving Sunday’s game against the White Sox with discomfort in his side. The 23-year-old had an MRI back clean, and it’s great news for fantasy managers and the Diamondbacks that last year’s Rookie of the Year is back in action. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago
    • Progressing slowly
Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that Verlander's (neck) progress has been "slower than we expected," Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Verlander was scratched of his most recently scheduled start this past weekend against the Tigers because of neck discomfort. The club had been hoping he would be ready to start Thursday versus the White Sox, and while Espada didn't seem to officially rule Verlander out for the series finale in Chicago, he now appears likely to be pushed back again. Houston could have Spencer Arrighetti and Ronel Blanco both move up a day to start on Thursday and Friday, respectively, which would keep both pitchers on their typical four days' rest. The arrangement would also give Verlander a couple extra days to heal up if the team thinks he could take the ball Saturday versus the Orioles. A stint on the injured list for Verlander also can't be ruled out. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago
    • Verlander (neck) progress ‘slower than expected’
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Tuesday that Justin Verlander (neck) may not be ready to start Thursday against the White Sox.

Advice: Espada said that Verlander’s progress from his neck injury is going “slower than expected.” The right-hander was scratched from his start against the Tigers on Saturday because of that discomfort, and while there was hope he could make his next scheduled trip to the mound, that’s very much in doubt. Fantasy managers who roster Verlander will want to pay attention to the situation. Rotoworld Today, 10:49 am
    • Corbin Carroll (side) ‘penciled in’ Tuesday lineup
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters before Tuesday’s game that Corbin Carroll is “penciled in” to the lineup against the Nationals.

Advice: Carroll underwent an MRI on his side, and it came back clean without structural damage. The Diamondbacks could take precaution if he’s still sore before Tuesday’s contest, but it’s good news for Arizona and fantasy managers that at the very least, he’s avoided a significant injury. • Will be in Tuesday's lineup
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that Carroll (side) will be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Carroll was removed from Sunday's 12-5 win over the White Sox with discomfort in his left side, but an MRI came back clean Monday. Lovullo shed more light on Carroll's injury Tuesday, noting that the outfielder was merely dealing with some cramping. He'll be in action for the series opener in Washington on Tuesday following the team off day Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:06 am
    • Picks up three hits, stolen base
De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: De La Cruz produced his fifth three-hit effort of the season Monday. He has multi-hit games in three of his last four and a stolen base in three straight contests. The 22-year-old now has 37 steals through 72 games this season, which puts him on pace to reach 80 thefts by the end of the campaign. The speedster carries a .242/.340/.447 slash line with 12 home runs and 31 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:21 pm
    • Drives in two runs in win
Cruz went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Monday's 4-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: With Paul Skenes dealing on the mound, Cruz's two-run single in the first inning ended up being the deciding runs. The 25-year-old now has 10 of his 30 RBI for the season over his past nine games. He's been swinging a hot bat since the calendar turned to June, slashing .295/.325/.525 over his last 11 games. • Earns one-out save
Jansen recorded one out to earn a save over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Jansen entered the ninth inning with two runners on base and two outs. He forced a Davis Schneider popout to close out the 7-3 win and pick up the save. Jansen has converted eight straight save chances since his last blown opportunity April 16. His season ERA sits at 2.70 with a 30:11 K:BB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:33 pm
    • Reaches three times in loss
Greene went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI in Monday's 2-1 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Greene didn't get much support from the rest of the lineup but it was still a good day for the young outfielder. He's been locked in this month with a .305 batting average across 15 games, and that's pushed his overall average to .254. Greene is a dynamic talent who can really take off if he keeps making consistent contact at the plate like he's done recently. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm
