• Breaks out of short slump
Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Saturday against the White Sox.

Advice: Jones entered Saturday's game having collected just one hit across his last 15 at-bats. He ended that short slump with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, his second long ball since returning from the injured list June 14. Jones is still working on finding his rhythm this season after missing around six weeks due to knee and back injuries, but he is now hitting .250 since being activated. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:02 am

  • Two doubles in three-hit effort
Iglesias went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 9-6 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Iglesias has gone 7-for-17 over his last 10 contests, recording a plate appearance in just seven of those games. Over 43 plate appearances this year, he's batting .425 with seven RBI, six runs scored, one stolen base and four doubles, but the typically light-hitting infielder has yet to hit a home run. Iglesias' best path to playing time is at second base, where he's currently on the short side of a platoon with Jeff McNeil, who is hitting just .221 on the year and .211 in June. • Garrett Mitchell not likely to join Brewers Sunday
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Saturday’s loss to the Cubs that he didn’t expect Garrett Mitchell to join the big league roster on Sunday.

Advice: It’s curious, as Murphy told reporters after Friday’s game that there was no plan to option Mitchell to Triple-A Nashville once his rehab assignment came to an end on Saturday. Something has to give. It sounds like the 25-year-old outfielder is going to remain at the Triple-A level for the time being instead of adding to an already crowded outfield mix in Milwaukee. • Nolan Jones goes deep in loss to White Sox
Nolan Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Jones took Jonathan Cannon deep for a two-run shot in the fifth inning. It was only his third home run of the season as he’s struggled to a .192/.298/.323 slash line, striking out 33.1 percent of the time across 151 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:53 pm

  • Held out Saturday
Laureano (back) isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Laureano is still managing a sore back, so he'll take a seat for the third game in a row as Atlanta faces Paul Skenes and the Pirates. Adam Duvall will pick up another start in right field while Laureano recovers. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:37 am

  • Ian Anderson (elbow) starting Sunday at Low-A
Ian Anderson (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start on Sunday for Low-A Augusta.

Advice: Anderson continues to work his way back from last April’s Tommy John surgery and figures to be an option for Atlanta’s starting rotation at some point following the All-Star break in a couple weeks. Rotoworld Saturday, 11:29 am

  • Ramón Laureano out Saturday due to back soreness
Ramón Laureano (back) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: It’ll be veteran Adam Duvall getting a chance to face Pirates rookie sensation Paul Skenes on Saturday afternoon with Laureano absent from the lineup for a second straight day due to back soreness. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:28 am

  • Jose Iglesias gets nod at second base on Saturday
Jose Iglesias is at second base and batting eighth for Saturday’s game against the Astros.

Advice: Iglesias is becoming a bit of a cult hero in New York at the moment, and his on-field performance hasn’t been too shabby either. The 34-year-old journeyman infielder is batting .406 (13-for-32) since June 1. He’s pretty irrelevant for fantasy purposes, but his presence has injected some badly-needed life into the Mets clubhouse. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:00 am
  • George Springer in Saturday’s lineup vs. Yankees
George Springer (hand) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Yankees.

Advice: This certainly qualifies as a welcome surprise for fantasy managers following Springer’s early exit from Friday’s game against the Yankees after being hit on his left hand by a 93.5 mph fastball. The positive news here is that precautionary X-rays came back negative for any fractures and the fact that he’s already back in the lineup means that the swelling isn’t bad enough that it’s preventing him from gripping a bat. It’s been a down year offensively for the 34-year-old veteran outfielder, but the Blue Jays need his bat in the lineup if they’re going to have any shot at turning things around before the trade deadline.
