    Advice: The 28-year-old capped a four-run first inning for the Marlins with a shot to right field off Bryce Miller. The homer was Gordon's seventh of the season but his first in June, and even with Sunday's performance he's slashing just .205/.217/.341 on the month with a 1:11 BB:K in 16 games.   • Playing time ticking up
    McCormick went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Sunday against the Orioles.

    Advice: McCormick's line isn't notable, but Sunday marked his third start in Houston's last four games against a right-handed pitcher. He had previously been losing playing time against righties to Trey Cabbage and Mauricio Dubon, but the absence of Kyle Tucker (shin) and lack of production from Jake Meyers have opened up playing time for McCormick.     Advice: Smith tagged Sam Long for a solo shot in the seventh inning, marking Smith's third home run in the last five games. During that stretch, he's 7-for-13 with six RBI. While he's hitting .255 (13-for-51) this month, eight of those knocks have gone for extra bases, and he's driven in 11 runs.     Advice: Buxton has an extra-base hit in each of his last three games. This was his first multi-hit effort since June 13. Buxton has added a .702 OPS, five homers, 25 RBI, 26 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 doubles and three triples across 58 contests.     Byron Buxton homered, doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday afternoon, leading the Twins to a 3-0 victory over the Athletics in Oakland.

    Advice: Buxton opened the scoring in the ballgame with a monstrous 432-foot (112.7 mph EV) solo shot on the first pitch that he saw from Hogan Harris in the second inning. He then laced a run-scoring double into center field in the seventh inning that extended the Twins’ lead to 2-0.     Josh Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Royals on Sunday.

    Advice: Smith took Sam Long deep 383 feet at 102.2 mph for his seventh home run on the season. The 26-year-old has been brilliant filling in for Josh Jung, hitting .303/.391/.478 on the year.   • Bryan Reynolds goes 2-for-3, hits 12th homer
    Bryan Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a homer that accounted for Pittsburgh’s only run and a walk Sunday against the Rays.

    Advice: The homer left his bat at just 90 mph, but aided by some wind, it got over the wall at PNC Park. Reynolds’ hitting streak is now at 20 games, and it includes three homers in his last four games. Today’s performance pushed his OPS over .800 for the first time since mid-April.
