• Swipes bag in loss
Jankowski started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Philadelphia.

Advice: Jankowski got the start in right as Adolis Garcia was limited to DH duties for a second consecutive game. Garcia had missed two games with a right forearm injury and has yet to play the field since returning Wednesday. For Jankowski, who led the Rangers with 19 steals in 2023, it was just his second theft in 33 games this season. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
  • Not playing field yet
Garcia served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Garcia made a second consecutive start at DH after missing two games with a right forearm injury. It's unclear when he will resume his work in a defensive role, but as long as his bat works, that shouldn't matter much. The home run was the team-leading 12th for Garcia, who also leads the Rangers with 36 RBI. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago
  • Two extra-base hits in win
Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with a triple and a solo homer in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa jumped on the third pitch he saw from Jack Flaherty in the top of the third and launched it over the wall in left field to put the Blue Jays on the board. The outfielder would add a triple in his next at-bat, giving him back-to-back games with two hits after previously riding an 0-for-20 skid. The home run was his third of the season, though two of those have come over his last 11 games. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Used as pinch runner
Fraley (hand) entered Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres as a pinch runner in the 10th inning.

Advice: Fraley ran for Jeimer Candelario, who had walked, and presumably was only going to run the bases. The Reds didn't score in the extra frame, but the activity suggests the outfielder could return to the lineup Friday or at some point during the weekend series against the Dodgers. • Leading off again
Hurtubise batted leadoff and went 1-for-2 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to San Diego.

Advice: After the Padres jumped to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Hurtubise made things happen for the Reds in the bottom of the frame. He was hit by a pitch then stole second base before scoring on a Jeimer Candelario triple. This was Hurtubise's third consecutive start as the leadoff batter -- all against right-handers -- and he's been removed for a pinch hitter in all three. He's 3-for-14 with three walks, one stolen base, two RBI and two runs scored over nine games since his callup. Once TJ Friedl (thumb) is back, Hurtubise's run as the leadoff batter -- and maybe his time on the parent club's roster -- will end. Rotowire.com Today, 4:08 am
  • Grabs first hits, steal of season
Wisely went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Wisely's playing time has been sparse, but he went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts and one RBI over his first five major-league games of the season. He got the start at shortstop Thursday and delivered with a multi-hit effort, as well as his first steal of the campaign. The utility man hit .175 with a .498 OPS, two home runs and two steals over 131 plate appearances in the majors last year. Wisely can cover the middle infield and all three outfield spots, but it's unlikely he comes anywhere near steady playing time in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:12 pm

  • Launches homer Thursday
Ramos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Ramos has hit safely in his last five games, going 7-for-22 (.318) with both of his homers for the year in that span. The outfielder is batting .296 through 14 contests since taking over for Michael Conforto (hamstring) as the Giants' starting left fielder. Ramos has added nine RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base and three doubles across 58 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:05 pm
  • Pham has three-hit game Thursday
Tommy Pham went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Pham continues to produce out of the leadoff spot for Chicago. His average is up to .333 on the season. He’s been one of the best pickups of the season considering he started the year without a team.

  • Notches 10th steal
Doyle went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Doyle went 6-for-30 (.200) with no multi-hit efforts over his previous nine games. In that span, he also had four steals and a 9:12 BB:K as he continues to get on base at a healthy clip despite a lofty strikeout rate that's at 28.6 percent for the year. The outfielder is slashing .273/.339/.442 with five home runs, 10 steals, 10 doubles, 15 RBI and 30 runs scored over 47 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 pm
