      Paxton allowed three hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five scoreless innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.

      Advice: Paxton needed 91 pitches to get through five frames, so he wasn't able to record a third straight quality start or hang around long enough for Los Angeles' offense to supply him a run. Nonetheless, the veteran left-hander was very effective, and he flashed some of the swing-and-miss stuff of his peak seasons with 18 whiffs. Since giving up a season-high seven runs (six earned) over 1.2 innings versus Pittsburgh in his first start of June, Paxton has surrendered just two runs across 18 frames over his subsequent three outings.     • Paxton tosses five scoreless in no-decision Monday
      James Paxton allowed no runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Dodgers’ 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Monday.



      Advice: Paxton gave up three hits, walked three and struck out six. He had won his last two starts, but the Dodgers couldn’t score any runs to support him. It was still a good effort from Paxton, who lowered his ERA to 3.39 in the process. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants on the road this weekend.

    • Helsley picks up 27th save against Braves Monday
      Ryan Helsley allowed two runs and picked up the save against the Braves on Monday.

      Advice: It was an eventful ninth inning in St. Louis. Helsley entered with a 4-1 lead and proceeded to load the bases on two walks and a hit. With one out, Ramon Laureano singled to make it a 4-2 game and Travis d’Arnaud hit a sacrifice fly to bring the Braves within a run. Helsley then struck out Zack Short on a slider to end the ballgame. His ERA is up to 2.83 now, but fantasy managers can’t complain with 27 saves already in the bank. Rotoworld Monday, 7:17 pm

    • Unlikely to be activated this week
      Kremer (triceps) may need to make another rehab start this week before being reinstated from the 15-day injured list, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

      Advice: Kremer logged 3.2 innings in his first rehab start June 16 while building up to 59 pitches. He made his second start Saturday with Norfolk but needed 39 pitches to record two outs and was charged with five earned runs on five hits and one walk. Baltimore can go with a five-man rotation this week even without Kremer, and if he is able to go deeper into his third rehab start, he could return from the IL as early as July 2 in Seattle.     • Perfect for 26th save
      Helsley picked up the save Sunday against San Francisco, striking out two batters during a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Helsley has two more saves than any other closer and is now 26-for-27 on save chances this season. While he's been able to dodge blown saves, Helsley has had to work through plenty of trouble lately, allowing multiple baserunners in seven of his last 12 appearances.     • Pitches two frames versus Cleveland
      Kikuchi (4-7) picked up a loss after he pitched two innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three batters in Sunday's 6-5 defeat to Cleveland.

      Advice: Kikuchi was once again ineffective on the mound Sunday, giving up one run in the first inning before the game went into a rain delay after he allowed another run to score and loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third. Zach Pop replaced Kikuchi on the mound following the delay, allowing two of the inherited runners to score. Kikuchi has been in quite the rut for a while now, allowing 20 earned runs over 25.1 innings in his last six outings. The rough stretch has seen his ERA balloon from 2.64 to 4.00 on the year over 83.1 innings in 16 starts.       Valdez (6-5) allowed a run on six hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out seven and earning a win against Baltimore.

      Advice: Valdez rolled through five shutout frames without facing too much trouble before Jordan Westburg belted a solo shot in the sixth inning. The Astros gave Valdez plenty of run support as he halted a brief two-start losing streak. It was the third time this year he's struck out at least seven batters, and each of those outings have come in his last eight starts. He's produced an impressive 2.73 ERA through 33 innings this month, lowering his season mark to 3.68 across 80.2 frames.       Ryan Helsley threw a shutout ninth inning to preserve a 5-3 win over the Giants on Sunday.

    • Framber Valdez dazzles against Orioles
      Framber Valdez allowed one run on six hits in seven innings in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.

      Advice: Valdez struck out seven and walked two on the day. He allowed just one extra-base hit, but it happened to be a solo home run to Jordan Westburg. The left-hander induced 11 whiffs on 45 swings for a 24 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW against a really talented offense. That’s now back-to-back really strong starts for Valdez after a rough outing against the Giants. He’ll carry a 3.68 ERA into a plus matchup against the Mets next week. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:44 pm
