    • Swipes fifth bag
Hayes went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: Hayes hasn't hit well across 13 games since returning from a back injury, as he's maintained only a .240 average with one extra-base hit. However, he has shown the desire to steal bases by recording all five of his thefts on the season since his return. Rotowire.com Today, 6:57 am
    • Edouard Julien batting .171 at Triple-A St. Paul
Edouard Julien went 2-for-4 with a walk on Friday for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Julien has struggled to a .171 (7-for-41) average with one homer in 10 games since being demoted to the minors earlier this month. The 25-year-old second baseman is going to get some extended time to iron things out in the minors and doesn’t appear close to returning to Minnesota at the moment. Rotoworld Today, 3:51 am

    • Jose Altuve doubles twice as Astros defeat Tigers
Jose Altuve went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored on Friday evening, helping to lead the Astros past the Tigers.

Advice: Altuve got a rally started with a leadoff double off of Tarik Skubal to begin the sixth inning. He then scored the game’s first run on Alex Bregman’s ensuing RBI triple. Altuve also drew a walk in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. With his two-hit attack, the 34-year-old second baseman is now slashing an outstanding .298/.349/.453 to go along with 10 homers, 26 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season. • Notches first big-league homer
Locklear went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in an extra-inning loss to the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Garrett Crochet dominated Seattle with 13 punchouts over seven frames, and Locklear accounted for the only run against the hurler with a solo blast in the fifth inning. The long ball was Locklear's first as a major-leaguer and just his second extra-base hit of any type. Locklear has started four of five games since being called up June 9 and has hit .250 (4-for-16) with two runs and two RBI. He's struggled to make contact with a 35.3 percent strikeout rate thus far, and he could head back to the minors when Ty France (heel) is cleared to return, which could happen early next week. • Rips walk-off double
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI, a run and walk in Thursday's 4-3 win versus the Yankees.

Advice: Garcia came up with two on and two out in the ninth and took a Clay Holmes sinker down the left-field line to win it for Kansas City. The 24-year-old third baseman entered the game in a bit of a slump during June with just one RBI and a .159 average in 40 at-bats. Garcia continues to provide a spark for the Royals this season with his solid counting stats, as he now has 18 extra-base hits and 38 RBI with 16 stolen bases through 68 games. • Maikel Garcia delivers game-winner for Royals
Maikel Garcia delivered a two-run double with two outs in the ninth to give the Royals a 4-3 win over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia hasn’t hit quite as well as we expected, but he has 38 RBI anyway, mostly because his average is over 100 points higher with runners on than with the bases empty. Between that, his 45 runs scored in the leadoff spot and his 16 steals, he’s been an odd, three-category wonder so far. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:27 pm

    • Absent from lineup
Swanson is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay.

Advice: It looks to be a simple day of rest for Swanson, who had started each of the previous 20 contests. Nico Hoerner will shift over to shortstop and Michael Busch will handle second base for the Cubs. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:28 pm

    • Swats homer No. 10
Olson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The first baseman spoiled Baltimore's combined shutout bid by taking Keegan Akin deep in the eighth inning. Olson has hit safely in six straight games, and over his last 16 contests he's slashing .328/.385/.586 with three of his 10 homers on the season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:11 am

    • Matt Olson hits two-run homer against Orioles
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 and hit a two-run homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer, which accounted for Atlanta’s only scoring tonight, briefly evened up the game in the top of the eighth, but the Orioles went right back ahead in the bottom of the inning. It’s incredible that the Braves’ lineup has basically been the equal of the White Sox’s for about a month and a half now. Olson has actually picked up his play during this terrible span, but he’s not getting much help. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm
