• Headed for X-rays
Ortiz is getting X-rays on his right foot after being hit by a pitch in the fourth inning Monday against the Marlins, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Ortiz was able to finish out the game, but it was still bothering him in the clubhouse after the loss, and skipper Pat Murphy noted that the injury may be more serious than initially thought, per Rosiak. Andruw Monastero put together a multi-hit evening and could be in line for more looks at the hot corner if Ortiz requires a trip to the injured list. Oliver Dunn is another option at third base, though it would require Milwaukee to elevate him from Triple-A Nashville. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Canzone leaves the yard Monday
Dominic Canzone went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: Canzone drew the start in right field as Mitch Haniger was the designated hitter and Mitch Garver got the night off. He provided all of the offense for the Mariners through eight innings on Monday with a solo home run off Marcus Stroman. It was Canzone’s fourth home run of the season. His playing time going forward depends on Garver’s availability.

  • Pops fourth homer
Garcia went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's victory over the Twins.

Advice: Garcia put Washington ahead with his 378-foot, two-run home run in the second inning off starter Pablo Lopez. The 24-year-old second baseman entered the game on a cold spell in which he hit .091 (3-for-33) over his previous nine games while battling wrist and heel ailments. Hopefully this performance is a sign that Garcia is feeling healthy as he's batting .281 on the season in 145 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
  • Verdugo has three hits and three RBI on Monday
Alex Vergdugo went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Verdugo’s career-high in home runs is just 13, but he has a nice spot in the middle of the Yankees’ order as the clean up hitter against right-handed starting pitchers. Verdugo has 22 runs scored and 24 RBI in 46 games this season.

  • Drives in three
Rosario went 2-for-5 with a stolen base, three RBI and a run scored in Monday's victory over Minnesota.

Advice: Rosario knocked two singles against his former club to collect his first three-RBI game with the Nationals. However, the highlight of the 32-year-old's evening came in the sixth inning when he was credited with a steal of home. The veteran outfielder has caught fire in May, hitting .333 (16-for48) with five homers, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored. Nationals manager Dave Martinez has taken notice too, slotting Rosario at second or third in the order for seven of his last eight starts. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
  • Luis García Jr. homers in Nats’ blowout victory
Luis García Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, lifting the Nationals to a 12-3 blowout win over the Twins.

Advice: García put the Nationals ahead with a two-run shot off Twins ace Pablo López in the second inning -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- before adding a run-scoring single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old second baseman is finally starting to make the leap offensively at the highest level this season, batting .281 (38-for-135) with four homers and seven steals in 39 contests so far. • Carlos Correa blasts homer in loss to Nationals
Carlos Correa clubbed a two-run homer on Monday in the Twins’ blowout loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Correa walloped a two-run shot off Nationals starter Mitchell Parker in the sixth inning, but it did little to alter the outcome of Monday’s series opener. It was just his third round-tripper of the season. The 29-year-old shortstop is batting .267/.361/.419 with 16 runs scored, three homers and 12 RBI in 122 plate appearances. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Ejected from series opener
Marte was ejected from Monday's game against the Guardians after arguing a called third strike, SportsNet New York reports.

Advice: Marte didn't agree with a called strike three to end the top half of the fourth inning, and he was ejected while walking out to his position in the bottom half of the frame. Tyrone Taylor replaced Marte in right field. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago
