• Canzone leaves the yard Monday
Dominic Canzone went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: Canzone drew the start in right field as Mitch Haniger was the designated hitter and Mitch Garver got the night off. He provided all of the offense for the Mariners through eight innings on Monday with a solo home run off Marcus Stroman. It was Canzone’s fourth home run of the season. His playing time going forward depends on Garver’s availability.

  • Pops fourth homer
Garcia went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's victory over the Twins.

Advice: Garcia put Washington ahead with his 378-foot, two-run home run in the second inning off starter Pablo Lopez. The 24-year-old second baseman entered the game on a cold spell in which he hit .091 (3-for-33) over his previous nine games while battling wrist and heel ailments. Hopefully this performance is a sign that Garcia is feeling healthy as he's batting .281 on the season in 145 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago
  • Verdugo has three hits and three RBI on Monday
Alex Vergdugo went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Verdugo’s career-high in home runs is just 13, but he has a nice spot in the middle of the Yankees’ order as the clean up hitter against right-handed starting pitchers. Verdugo has 22 runs scored and 24 RBI in 46 games this season.

  • Gilbert gets quality start and no-decision Monday
Logan Gilbert allowed three runs in six innings and got a no-decision against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: Gilbert recorded only one strikeout and allowed eight hits and a walk. He battled in a tough matchup against the Yankees on the road. This was his lowest strikeout total of the season by far, but otherwise Gilbert has been fairly consistent. He’s had eight quality starts in 10 tries this season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road on Saturday.

  • Stroman allows one run in no-decision
Marcus Stroman allowed one run in 7 ⅓ innings, struck out six and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 5-4 loss to the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Stroman was in line for his fourth of the season, but the bullpen was unable to hold the lead. He began the eighth inning by striking out Dylan Moore before allowing a solo home run to Dominic Canzone as the only run he allowed all night. Yankees manager Aaron Boone then removed Stroman for Luke Weaver. Stroman lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the season with his fourth quality start in 10 tries. The 33-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Padres on the road on Saturday.

  • Drives in three
Rosario went 2-for-5 with a stolen base, three RBI and a run scored in Monday's victory over Minnesota.

Advice: Rosario knocked two singles against his former club to collect his first three-RBI game with the Nationals. However, the highlight of the 32-year-old's evening came in the sixth inning when he was credited with a steal of home. The veteran outfielder has caught fire in May, hitting .333 (16-for48) with five homers, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored. Nationals manager Dave Martinez has taken notice too, slotting Rosario at second or third in the order for seven of his last eight starts. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
  • Luis García Jr. homers in Nats’ blowout victory
Luis García Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, lifting the Nationals to a 12-3 blowout win over the Twins.

Advice: García put the Nationals ahead with a two-run shot off Twins ace Pablo López in the second inning -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- before adding a run-scoring single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old second baseman is finally starting to make the leap offensively at the highest level this season, batting .281 (38-for-135) with four homers and seven steals in 39 contests so far. • Carlos Correa blasts homer in loss to Nationals
Carlos Correa clubbed a two-run homer on Monday in the Twins’ blowout loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Correa walloped a two-run shot off Nationals starter Mitchell Parker in the sixth inning, but it did little to alter the outcome of Monday’s series opener. It was just his third round-tripper of the season. The 29-year-old shortstop is batting .267/.361/.419 with 16 runs scored, three homers and 12 RBI in 122 plate appearances. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago
