      Advice: The right-hander generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 102 pitches -- his biggest workload of the season -- but didn't get enough support from his offense or defense to avoid his first loss. A stint on the injured list after taking a comebacker off his pitching elbow hasn't derailed Marsh's momentum, as he's given up just two earned runs total over his last four starts while posting a 21:7 K:BB in his last 20.1 innings.       Advice: The 10 hits allowed were a season high for Lopez, who also received no run support in a 4-0 loss. He gave up a run in each of the first three innings before settling in to keep things relatively close. The Twins' ace is at a 3.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 58:8 K:BB through 50.1 innings over nine starts this season. Lopez is lined up for a more favorable road matchup versus the Nationals his next time out.     • Pablo López struggles in loss to Yankees
      Pablo López surrendered 10 hits, three earned runs, and a mammoth home run to Aaron Judge in 6 ⅓ innings on Wednesday. He took the loss and struck out just three Yankees.

      Advice: The Yankees, especially Judge, were all over López in this one. Judge hit a 467-foot moonshot in the first inning and every starter besides Anthony Rizzo had at least one hit. It was still a marvel for López to work into the seventh inning and earn the quality start. He’s due to face the Nationals and Rangers next week in a two-start week.       Kopech walked two and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his fifth save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Nationals.

      Advice: After working a scoreless frame in the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader in a non-save situation, Kopech was called upon again and labored through 33 pitches (20 strikes) before finally getting the job done. The last time the right-hander pitched on back-to-back days, he got the next four days off, so Kopech could be unavailable at least until the weekend.       Alec Marsh pitched well in a losing effort against the Mariners on Wednesday afternoon, surrendering two runs (one earned) on five hits over his five frames.

      Advice: The right-hander punched out seven batters on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Mariners scratched out an unearned run against him in the second inning, then Ty France got him for a solo homer in the fourth inning — but that was the extent of the damage done against him. Marsh got a whopping 16 swings and misses on 102 pitches on the day — nine of those on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 29 percent.       Advice: Gasser was solid in his second big-league outing, allowing just one run in the third inning while the Brewers exploded for 10 runs in a convincing victory. The 24-year-old southpaw has allowed just one run through 11 innings in his first two starts after posting a 5.25 ERA in three outings with Triple-A Nashville. Gasser figures to stick in Milwaukee's rotation while DL Hall (knee) is sidelined. The former is currently slated for a road matchup with the Marlins in his next start.       Michael Kopech tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Nationals to record his fifth save of the season.

      Advice: Kopech got the call to guard a two-run advantage in the final frame and managed to work around a pair of walks to secure Chicago’s much-needed victory. The 28-year-old former starter has handed out a few more free passes than fantasy managers would like to see, but he’s adjusted nicely to a high-leverage role this season, converting five of six save chances so far to accompany a solid 3.32 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 29/14 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings (19 appearances).
