    • Notches win Friday
Duran (2-2) allowed a walk over two scoreless innings Friday. He struck out one and earned a win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran kept the Athletics off the board in the ninth and 10th frames as the Twins eventually delivered the walk-off win. He's 2-0 with a hold over his last three outings since coughing up three runs against the Pirates on June 8. The 26-year-old righty has not picked up a save since June 2. For the season, Duran's ERA is down to 3.66 with a 17:8 K:BB and 10 saves through 19.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:57 am

    • Johan Duran secures victory against Athletics
Jhoan Duran picked up his second victory of the season on Friday evening, working two scoreless innings against the Athletics.

Advice: Duran came on to work the top half of the ninth inning in a tied game and kept the A’s off the board. He then returned for the 10th inning and retired the side in order, setting the stage for Max Kepler’s heroics. On the season, he now boasts a 3.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 17/8 K/BB ratio (19 2/3 innings) to go along with a pair of victories and 10 saves in 10 opportunities. Rotoworld Friday, 8:44 pm

    • Kyle Gibson goes seven in shutout of Cubs
Kyle Gibson blanked the Cubs for seven innings in the Cardinals’ 3-0 shutout Friday.

Advice: Gibson gave up a long fly to Cody Bellinger that probably would have been a homer on another day, but not this one. Apart from that, he was very effective in allowing two hits, walking one and striking out six. He almost missed out on a win anyway; Patrick Wisdom absolutely crushed a ball in the eighth that by all rights should have been a go-ahead, two-run homer. Instead, the wind crushed it right back, resulting in a 354-foot flyout. It’s the first time in 14 starts this season in which Gibson has gone without allowing a run. He’s 5-2 with a 3.44 ERA. • Stymies Chicago
Gibson (5-2) earned the win Friday over the Cubs, allowing just two hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Gibson was excellent Friday, turning in a season-high seven innings in his first scoreless outing of the year. The 36-year-old righty has been solid of late, working to a 2.19 ERA over his last five starts. Overall, his ERA is down to 3.44 on the campaign with a 1.20 WHIP and 73:31 K:BB across 83.2 innings. Gibson's currently scheduled to face the Marlins on the road in his next start. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:03 pm
    • Goes three innings Wednesday
Gray allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out three over three innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gray was pitching on short rest after he made a relief appearance versus the Giants on Saturday, so it's not surprising this was a short outing for the veteran. He threw 36 of 65 pitches for strikes, and the lone run on his line was a Shohei Ohtani solo home run in the first inning. Gray is now at a 2.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 63:19 K:BB over 62.1 innings through 13 appearances (11 starts) this season. The right-hander should be getting back on a normal schedule moving forward, which puts him tentatively on track to make his next start in a favorable home matchup versus the Mets. • Efficient in win
Soriano (4-5) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over eight-plus innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: This was the longest outing of Soriano's career, and it was a good one. He had plenty of run support early and pitched into the ninth inning, ending the start with 97 pitches (63 strikes). He's quickly becoming one of the Angels' most reliable starters, having covered at least six innings in five straight appearances. He's at a 3.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 60:28 K:BB through 72.1 innings over 14 appearances (12 starts) this year. The 25-year-old's strikeout numbers have taken a hit from where they were last year when he was a reliever, but there's still value in a pitcher that can eat innings. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Brewers. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:12 pm

    • Jon Gray goes three innings in no-decision
Jon Gray allowed one run with three strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gray served up a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning. He worked around a hit in the second and two baserunners in the third before his day was done after three innings at 65 pitches. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 2.17 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 63/19 K/BB ratio into a start against the Mets in Texas on Monday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:11 pm

    • José Soriano goes eight frames in win over D-Backs
José Soriano allowed two runs with five strikeouts over eight innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: Soriano was excellent on Wednesday, holding the D-Backs scoreless into the eighth inning before Christian Walker finally got to him with a solo homer. Soriano retuned for the ninth to attempt a complete game but gave up a leadoff single that would end his day. Though, the inherited runner would come in to score. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 60/28 K/BB ratio across 72 1/3 innings. He’s set to take on the Brewers in Anaheim on Tuesday. • Struggles against Mets
Garrett (2-2) took the loss against the Mets on Wednesday, allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits and no walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Garrett was tagged by Harrison Bader for a two-run homer in the first inning, and he gave up three more runs in the second. The left-hander settled down a bit from there, but he was pulled with two outs in the fifth inning after serving up a solo shot to Starling Marte. It was the second straight start during which Garrett was unable to complete five frames -- he went just 2.2 innings versus Tampa Bay in his previous appearance. Garrett was great in back-to-back starts May 24 and 29, allowing just one run over 14 frames. However, he's given up at least four earned runs in each of his other four outings and has a poor 6.10 ERA overall this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:26 pm
