    • Cora: Wilyer Abreu (ankle) likely to return soon
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters he feels Wilyer Abreu (ankle) will return much sooner than originally anticipated.

Advice: Cora added that Abreu has already progressed to full baseball activities after landing on the injured list back on June 4 with a sprained ankle. The 24-year-old has been excellent defensively in right field this season and has also posted an .829 OPS with six homers and seven steals in 189 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm

    • Swinging bat
Contreras (forearm) hit soft toss Tuesday and caught a bullpen session, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Contreras had previously been throwing, running and catching, but Tuesday marks the first time he's swung a bat since undergoing surgery May 9. The 32-year-old also caught a bullpen from Nick Robertson on Tuesday, an encouraging sign considering the fractured wrist was on his glove hand. Still, it's been just over four weeks of what's expected to be a 10-week recovery period for Contreras, which puts a timeline for return in the middle of July. Rotowire.com Today, 1:45 pm
    • Willson Contreras (forearm) nears rehab assignment
Willson Contreras (forearm) could begin a minor league rehab assignment next week.

Advice: Contreras has made a speedy recovery from surgery to repair a fractured left forearm and appears on track to make it back to St. Louis prior to the end of the month, barring any setbacks. The 32-year-old backstop was cleared to resume full baseball activities last week and could wind up getting into minor league rehab contests next week. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm
    • Goes through full workout
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Abreu (ankle) went through a full pregame workout Tuesday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Abreu is making a quick recovery from his right ankle sprain. It's not clear whether he has a chance to be ready for activation Thursday when he's first eligible, but the outfielder is trending in a good direction. Abreu is slashing .272/.344/.485 with six home runs and seven stolen bases this season as Boston's primary right fielder. Rotowire.com Today, 1:26 pm

    • Pitches well in no-decision
Arrighetti allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out six batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against San Francisco on Monday.

Advice: Arrighetti held the Giants scoreless through five frames and retired the first two batters he faced in the sixth before a walk and a run-scoring triple ended his outing. He fell just short of a quality start but nonetheless impressed in a battle with Giants rookie Kyle Harrison. Arrighetti did struggle a bit with his control again -- he's walked exactly three batters in each of his past four contests and is fifth-worst among qualified starters with a 12.1 percent walk rate on the campaign. The right-hander has put up respectable overall numbers of late, though, posting a 3.19 ERA and 36:16 K:BB over 31 innings across his past six starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:27 pm
    • Patrick Bailey reaches four times in Giants’ win
Patrick Bailey walked three times before singling in a run in the 10th as the Giants edged the Astros 4-3 on Monday.

Advice: Offense is down plenty as is, but it’d be even worse if not for the Manfred Man skewing scoring in extra innings; this was a 1-1 game after nine before five runs scored in the 10th. Austin Slater delivered the game-winner for the Giants then after Bailey tied up the game with a sharp single up the middle. Bailey has missed some time this year, but he’s probably been the Giants’ best player in batting .280/.357/.424 in 42 games and playing Gold Glove-quality defense behind the plate. • Spencer Arrighetti holds Giants to one run
Spencer Arrighetti pitched 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball Monday against the Giants.

Advice: Arrighetti didn’t seem sharp early as the Giants ran up his pitch count, but he managed to pitch his way out of trouble in the first three innings and was better afterwards. He’s a streaming option in mixed leagues, and he rates as a nice play with the Tigers up next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:05 pm
    • Witt Jr. doubles, drives in run in loss Monday
Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: Witt Jr. hit a ground ball in the right spot down the third base line, which he turned into a double while driving in a run. Otherwise, it was mostly a quiet night for the Kansas City offense. He now has 48 RBI on the season and remains one of the top options in all of fantasy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:16 pm
    • Fans nine in loss
Pepiot (4-3) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Pepiot struggled to contain an imposing Orioles lineup, allowing a career-high nine hits. However, it wasn't all bad for the Rays righty as he generated an impressive 16 whiffs en route to nine strikeouts. Following this four-run appearance, Pepiot has thrown a 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68:16 K:BB over 58.1 innings this season. The 26-year-old faces another difficult test in his next start, scheduled to be at Atlanta this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:08 pm
