    • Muncy (oblique) progressing slower than expected
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Saturday that Max Muncy (oblique) is progressing even slower than expected in his recovery.

Advice: Muncy has been shut down from swinging a bat for at least the next week while he continues to fight a nagging oblique strain. There’s still no clear timetable for his potential return and it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be anytime soon. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

    • Stays hot, homers
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win against Miami.

Advice: Thomas is red-hot, hitting a home run for the third-consecutive game and extending his hitting streak to 10 games. During the streak, the 28-year-old is batting .351 with four home runs, eight RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base. Rotowire.com Today, 4:59 pm

    • Set for MRI on Monday
Carroll (side) will undergo an MRI in Phoenix on Monday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Carroll left Sunday's 12-5 win over the White Sox in the seventh inning with left side discomfort and he will now require some additional imaging. The Diamondbacks will begin a three-game series on the road against the Nationals on Tuesday and with Carroll staying in Arizona for the MRI on Monday, it's possible that he's forced to miss at least one contest. In his absence, Randal Grichuk would stand to see an increased role in the outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 4:48 pm
    • Kenta Maeda gives up four runs in loss to Astros
Kenta Maeda wasn’t at his best in Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Astros, giving up four runs on five hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: The 36-year-old right-hander also issued a pair of walks on the day while recording only one strikeout. He surrendered an RBI single to Yordan Alvarez in the opening inning, then was victimized by Jose Altuve for a two-out, three-run homer in the second inning. Maeda finished his day with three scoreless frames, but the damage had already been done. He got 10 swings and misses on 94 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll carry an uninspiring 6.02 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 36/18 K/BB ratio (49 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the White Sox. Rotoworld Today, 4:46 pm
    • Corbin Carroll (side) heading for MRI exam
Corbin Carroll will remain in Arizona to get an MRI exam after leaving Sunday’s game with rib cage discomfort.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder sustained the injury while making a throw from the outfield during Sunday’s game. While the exact nature and severity of the injury are not yet known, the fact that he’s heading for an MRI exam isn’t encouraging. If it’s an oblique issue, a stint on the injured list seems like a near certainty. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week. Rotoworld Today, 4:35 pm
    • Dane Dunning fans eight, gets lifted in fifth
Dane Dunning allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings and struck out eight before being lifted from his start against the Mariners on Sunday.

Advice: Dunning’s K rate this year has been quite encouraging — he’s fanned 67 in 59 innings — but the extra homers and extra walks he’s given up have made him a far less effective pitcher than he was last year. If he remains in the rotation and has more luck with homers, he still might be a factor in mixed leagues after the break. However, if all goes as the Rangers hope and they get to add Max Scherzer, Tyler Mahle and Jacob deGrom to the rotation, Dunning could finish the year in the pen. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 pm

    • Leaves Sunday in seventh inning
Carroll left Sunday in the seventh inning against the White Sox with an apparent left side injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Piecoro observed Carroll reacting after a throw in the top of the inning. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. replaced Carroll in the game, with Jake McCarthy moving from left field to center field to replace Carroll. Rotowire.com Today, 4:10 pm
    • Blasts leadoff homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Padres.

Advice: In the third pitch he saw, Lindor took Dylan Cease deep for his first leadoff homer since 2019. It was his 12th home run this season and the third in his last nine games. Lindor has been on a steady climb for about a month now with an average of .303 over his last 25 games. After his slow start, the shortstop is now carrying a .231/.305/.420 slash line with 12 homers, 34 RBI and 11 steals for the season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm
    • Megill picks up 13th save against Reds Sunday
Trevor Megill pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Megill’s save was his 13th of the year filling in for Devin Williams. In the ninth inning, with two men on and two outs, Megill gave up a single to Santiago Espinal on a line drive to center. However, outfielder Blake Perkins threw out Stuart Fairchild at home to end the game. It ended up being a scoreless inning for Megill, who lowered his ERA to 2.14 on the season.
