Manoah (1-2) took the loss Friday against the Tigers, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: It was a tough outing for Manoah, who hadn't allowed an earned run over 14 innings in his previous two starts. Still, the 26-year-old right-hander has gotten off to a solid start in 2024, pitching to a 3.97 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB through 22.2 innings after struggling to a 5.87 ERA in 19 starts last year. Manoah will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently lined up for next week on the road versus the White Sox. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago
    • Bryse Wilson gets win against Red Sox as bulk guy
Bryse Wilson allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings in a bulk role Friday and picked up a win against the Red Sox.

Advice: Wilson took over with two outs in the first after Jared Koenig retired two of four batters, got out of the jam and then stayed in through the end of the sixth. Perhaps this was an outing, in a 7-2 game, in which he would have gotten a win as a starter, but the bulk role really helps there. Wilson still hasn’t won any of his six starts, including one in which he was pulled with a lead one out shy of finishing the fifth. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

    • Kutter Crawford surrenders six runs in defeat
Kutter Crawford lasted only 4 1/3 innings and gave up six runs Friday in a loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Crawford allowed only five hard-hit balls on the night, but he couldn’t stop the bleeding in either the third or the fifth, giving up three runs each inning. After opening up with a 0.66 ERA in his first five starts, Crawford has come in at 4.64 in his last six outings. He’ll pitch in Baltimore next time out, making him a mediocre play in mixed leagues. • Jhoan Durán throws hitless inning for save
Jhoan Durán worked a hitless ninth for his fifth save Friday against the Rangers.

Advice: After giving up runs in his previous three appearances, Duran had a pretty easy one tonight, though he did walk a batter. Duran had his worst fastball velocity of the season last time out, averaging 99.0 mph, but he was back up to 101.0 mph tonight, which is obviously good news. Rotoworld Today, 10:06 pm

    • Records seventh save
Hader struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Hader has not allowed a hit over his last five appearances spanning seven innings, and he has a 12:2 K:BB with three saves and two wins in that span. The Astros are trending upward as well, which has given Hader more consistent work. The southpaw is at a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 37:9 K:BB over 23 innings while converting seven of eight save chances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:00 pm

    • Throws first career shutout
Garrett (1-0) allowed four hits and struck out six while walking none, tossing a complete-game shutout to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Garrett had the best start of his career, throwing just 95 pitches (71 strikes) over his nine innings Friday. He began the year on the injured list with a shoulder injury and allowed 11 runs over 9.2 innings over his first two starts before this gem. Garrett has a 5.30 ERA on the year, but his 1.02 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB across 18.2 innings paint a much more encouraging picture. The 2016 first-rounder is projected for a road start versus the Padres his next time out. Rotowire.com Today, 9:26 pm
    • Secures fifth save
Duran allowed a walk and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning to earn a save over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Duran worked around a two-out walk to finish off the 3-2 win Friday. He'd been tagged with five runs over 2.2 innings over his previous three outings after beginning the year on a seven-inning scoreless streak. Friday's outing was his first scoreless appearance since May 12 and lowered his ERA to 4.22. alongside an 11:4 K:BB. Rotowire.com Today, 9:23 pm

    • Josh Hader whiffs two while picking up save
Josh Hader struck out two over a scoreless ninth to get a save Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Hader didn’t allow a hit and needed just 10 pitches to get through the inning even with the two strikeouts. The southpaw has now saved seven games, and his ERA has dropped to 3.91 after a few ugly outings to begin the campaign. Rotoworld Today, 9:15 pm

    • Yields one run in Colorado
Sanchez did not factor into the decision Friday against the Rockies, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Despite allowing eight baserunners, Sanchez managed to hold the Rockies offense in check with a 52.5 percent groundball rate. Surprisingly, the Phillies lefty collected only two strikeouts despite generating 11 whiffs in his 83 total pitches. Sanchez has thrown 54.1 innings this season, producing a 3.15 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB. The 27-year-old is currently scheduled to face the Giants on the road in his next start.
