    • Swats homer in loss
Senzel went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Advice: Senzel went deep in the top of the 10th inning to give the Nationals a 6-3 lead, but the Padres rallied back for a walk-off. After starting June hot, Senzel has gone a mere 4-for-32 9.125) over his last 10 contests. The 28-year-old is slashing .218/.324/.385 with seven homers, 18 RBI, 22 runs scored and one stolen base over 207 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:25 pm

    • Clubs fifth homer
Nevin went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Nevin provided the Athletics' lone run with his solo shot off Griffin Canning in the second inning. Over six games since he rejoined Oakland's 26-man roster, he's gone 3-for-18 (.167) with two RBI. The infielder is slashing .213/.300/.348 with five homers, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, four doubles and one stolen base over 160 plate appearances. While Nevin's hitting is nothing special, he'll have a chance to claim a regular spot in the lineup while Abraham Toro (hamstring) is sidelined for at least a month. Rotowire.com Today, 10:09 pm

    • Dealing with bacterial infection
Anderson is not with the team due to a lower body bacterial infection, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Anderson hasn't been with Atlanta on the team's current road trip, and it sounds as though he'll remain out for at least a few more days. "So, he hasn't been with us the whole way, but we're just hoping that at some point, we get him back," said manager Brian Snitker. Anderson remains on the active roster, which means Atlanta is playing down a man. Rotowire.com Today, 9:50 pm

    • Aledmys Díaz goes 0-for-3 against Angels
Aledmys Díaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Monday against the Angels.

Advice: The A’s got ridiculously lucky that someone took Jace Peterson off their hands last summer, so they’ll keep giving Díaz the occasional start in the hopes that lightning will strike twice. The 33-year-old Díaz is 3-for-27 since returning from a calf injury on May 28. He hit .229/.280/.337 last year in the first season of a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Rotoworld Today, 9:37 pm

    • Michael Lorenzen solid for five against Brewers
Michael Lorenzen yielded two runs in five-plus innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

Advice: Lorenzen and Freddy Peralta pitched to a stalemate in this one. Lorenzen struck out five and walked one while throwing 91 pitches. It’s the seventh straight start in which he’s allowed three runs or fewer, and while he didn’t go deep tonight, he’s completed six innings in five of those outing and 10 of 13 starts for the year. • Brian Anderson out with bacterial infection
Brian Anderson wasn’t with the Braves for Monday’s game because of a lower body bacterial infection.

Advice: Anderson hasn’t had an at-bat since June 12, but until tonight, we imagine, that was simply because Brian Snitker hates using his bench players. If Anderson needs to go on the IL, the Braves figure to call up either Luke Williams or J.P. Martinez. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 pm

    • Renfroe hits seventh home run in win Monday
Hunter Renfroe went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Signs of life? Renfroe’s home run was his seventh of the year. He’s still only hitting .198 on the year with a .652 OPS. With the Royals optioning Nelson Velasquez to the minors, Renfroe has to understand it’s getting to be that time where he might not keep his job if his numbers don’t improve. Rotoworld Today, 7:54 pm

    • Gabriel Arias ejected from game in ninth
Gabriel Arias was ejected from Monday’s game in the ninth inning for arguing balls and strikes.

Advice: Arias brought up the strike two pitch with umpire Jeremy Riggs after swinging and missing at strike three and was thrown out, even though he didn’t seem to say much at all. Arias had a double and a run scored in four at-bats on the night. Rotoworld Today, 6:07 pm

    • Begins running program
Gallo (hamstring) has started a light running program, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Gallo suffered a significant hamstring strain June 11 and he's been on the 10-day injured list since. The running program is the first substantial step in his recovery and he'll likely have to ramp up his workload over a series of days prior to considering a rehab assignment.
