    • Jakb Junis starting rehab assignment on Tuesday
Jakob Junis (shoulder, head) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Junis is going to need at least a handful of rehab outings to build up his stamina and pitch count, but he should be an option for the Brewers as extra starting pitching depth in a couple weeks. The 31-year-old suffered a head injury when he was hit by a ball during batting practice back in late April while on the injured list recovering from a shoulder impingement. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

    • Beginning rehab outings
Junis (shoulder/head) is beginning his minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday night in Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Reports.

Advice: Junis was cleared for his rehab assignment Monday, but it is now clear that the assignment is starting Tuesday. The righty has been out since early April due to a right shoulder impingement as well as a head injury that later occurred in batting practice. He will need several outings to build himself back up. • Kris Bryant remains out Tuesday with rib soreness
Kris Bryant (rib) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Bryant will sit out his second consecutive contest due to lingering rib soreness stemming from a twisting catch during the club’s previous series against the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

    • Initial MRI encouraging
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Gasser (elbow) might miss some time but that the first MRI looked "pretty normal," Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The left-hander will receive a second opinion for the tightness and soreness in his elbow, but the initial imaging results are encouraging. Gasser still seems unlikely to avoid a stint on the injured list given it's an elbow issue, but the Brewers have yet to make an official roster move. Rotowire.com Today, 2:18 pm

    • MRI comes back clean on Robert Gasser’s left elbow
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that an MRI on Robert Gasser’s left elbow came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging development for Gasser as it means he’ll likely avoid an extended absence or potential surgery. However, he’s waiting for a second opinion before speaking to reporters. The 25-year-old rookie southpaw is dealing with elbow soreness and tightness, which will almost certainly send him to the injured list, but it doesn’t appear to be a worst-case scenario for now. Simpson (elbow) has started throwing, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Simpson has been shut down since April, when he underwent surgery to repair the ulnar nerve in his left elbow. However, he's begun throwing at Single-A Jupiter. He's on track to return in late July or early August. Rotowire.com Today, 1:27 pm

    • Out of lineup Tuesday
Bouchard isn't part of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cincinnati.

Advice: Bouchard will give way to the lefty-hitting Jake Cave in left field Tuesday with RHP Frankie Montas on the mound for the Reds. While Bouchard remains the Rockies' preferred left fielder with Jordan Beck (hand) sidelined, he's still expected to cede work to Cave and Hunter Goodman on occasion. Rotowire.com Today, 1:04 pm
