    • Drops to eighth in batting order
Carroll is starting in center field and batting eighth Monday night against the Giants, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Carroll's struggles at the dish have continued, as he's slashing .205/.289/.333 over his last 10 contests. Skipper Torey Lovullo noted that he'll likely bump Carroll down in the order against lefties moving forward, per Weiner. This change clears the way for Gabriel Moreno to move into the No. 2 spot in the order Monday evening. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:10 pm
    • Moving rehab to Triple-A
Perdomo (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Perdomo was cleared for at-bats in the Arizona Complex League over the weekend, and the club has since determined that he's ready to face stronger competition. He'll likely play at least a few games at Triple-A before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:31 pm

    • Taking next step in rehab
Kelly (shoulder) will begin his throwing program Tuesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: This is the next expected step for Kelly as he makes his way back from a right shoulder strain. His recovery has been moving along smoothly to this point, but the right-hander could take some time to gain clearance for mound work. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:23 pm

    • Corbin Carroll dropped to eighth in lineup
The Diamondbacks have Corbin Carroll batting eighth tonight against Giants left-hander Erik Miller.

Advice: Gabriel Moreno is batting second in his place. This might just be a special-occasion switch, since Miller is being looked at as an opener and dropping Carroll means he might not bat until righty Spencer Howard enters the game. The Diamondbacks typically dropped Carroll in the lineup against lefties last year, but that hasn’t been the case this season; he’s hit first or second against both lefties and righties, aside for a 10-game span in late April and early May in which he was dropped to the bottom of the order versus everyone. Arizona faces a lefty again tomorrow, so unless Torey Lovullo comments, we’ll have to wait and see whether this is a one-time thing, a change versus lefties or a semi-permanent move. The slumping Carroll’s batted-ball numbers got better for a time last month, even if his actual statistics didn’t. Unfortunately, though, they’ve faded again lately. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:52 pm
    • Jackson Chourio heads back to bench Monday
Despite homering Sunday, Jackson Chourio is out of the lineup for Monday’s game against the Phillies.

Advice: Weird. This makes three times in the last five games that Chourio has been excluded from the lineup in favor of Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins. One would think the Brewers would want him playing everyday somewhere. The 20-year-old is hitting .214/.257/.345 with six homers in 180 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:16 pm
    • Recovering from minor setback
Turner (hamstring) had a minor setback when he felt some leg soreness following a high-intensity workout May 25, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Turner resumed workouts this past weekend, doing some light jogging and change-of-direction running in addition to fielding grounders and hitting in the cage. The Phillies haven't offered a timetable for when he will run the bases, and Turner will need to start up a running program in addition to taking part in sliding drills before he's cleared for a rehab assignment. Turner will travel with the Phillies for their series in London against the Mets later this week to continue workouts, but he won't be activated from the 10-day injured list. After he had seemingly been trending toward an earlier-than-expected return, Turner now looks to be at least a couple weeks away from rejoining the Phillies lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 am

    • Perfect in sixth hold
Garrett struck out the side in a perfect seventh inning Sunday to record his sixth hold of the season in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: With the Mets holding a 4-3 lead, the right-hander was called in to the face the heart of Arizona's order and fanned Lourdes Gurriel, Christian Walker and Jake McCarthy on 11 pitches (nine strikes). Garrett has had some stumbles of late, getting tagged for earned runs in four of his last nine appearances with a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP over that stretch, but he's still part of the high-leverage mix and a candidate for saves in the absence of Edwin Diaz (shoulder). • Logs two steals in loss
Stott went 1-for-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases and one walk in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Stott has had trouble getting on base lately -- he's 5-for-44 (.114) with two walks over his last 12 games -- but he's managed to steal four bases in that span. He played a more noticeable role Sunday with a two-run single to tie the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning. Those RBI were his first since May 21. The infielder is slashing .239/.340/.372 with 16 steals, five home runs, 32 RBI and 31 runs scored over 55 contests this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:37 pm

    • Escapes with no-decision
Walker allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Sunday.

Advice: Walker served up two-run home runs to Nolan Gorman and Alec Burleson, but the Phillies were able to match the Cardinals through five innings. This was the second time this year Walker's allowed multiple homers, and he's also issued multiple walks in four straight outings. He's at a 5.73 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 30:15 K:BB over 37.2 innings across seven starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be versus the Mets in the London Series, though it's possible the Phillies could shuffle their rotation given their three off days for travel surrounding the overseas journey. Staff ace Zack Wheeler would be on regular rest for that two-game set after pitching Monday versus the Brewers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:34 pm
