    • X-rays on hand negative
X-rays on Arenado's right hand game back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Thursday's win over Pittsburgh, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado struck out swinging on a pitch that hit him in the hand during the eighth inning. He immediately headed back into the Cardinals' clubhouse to get checked out, but manager Oliver Marmol said Arenado simply suffered a bone bruise and is considered day-to-day. The 33-year-old is slashing .273/.340/.386 with a home run and five RBI since the beginning of June. Rotowire.com Today, 2:28 pm

    • Nolan Arenado leaves game after being hit by pitch
Nolan Arenado made an early exit from Thursday’s game against the Pirates after being hit by a pitch.

Advice: Arenado was hit by a pitch on the right hand while striking out in the bottom of the eighth inning and appeared to leave the contest afterwards. However, it’s difficult to confirm since he was in the lineup at designated hitter in this one. There should be an update on his status. He was 0-for-4 with a strikeout prior to leaving. • Royce Lewis making fourth straight start Thursday
Royce Lewis is at third base and batting third for Thursday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Advice: It’s a notable development that Lewis is making his fourth straight start after being eased back into game action last week following a lengthy absence due to a severe quad injury. The 25-year-old emerging fantasy stalwart is batting .321 (9-for-28) with four homers and seven RBI in eight games since returing back on June 4. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm

    • Randy Arozarena (hamstring) rejoins Rays lineup
Randy Arozarena (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Cubs.

Advice: Arozarena is playing left field and batting second against the Cubs after being held out of the lineup for the last two games of the series due to right hamstring tightness. He was able to pinch-hit each of the last two nights and remained in to play left field last night. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 12:54 pm

    • Returns to Tampa Bay lineup
Arozarena (hamstring) will start in left field and bat second in Thursday's game versus the Cubs.

Advice: Arozarena missed the previous two contests with right hamstring tightness but is feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. The 29-year-old will bring a disappointing .599 OPS into play Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:19 pm

    • On base five times in loss
Perez went 2-for-2 with three walks in Wednesday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Perez walked three times in a game for the first time in his career. The catcher has gone just 6-for-33 (.182) over 10 contests in June, but he's shown rare patience at the plate by drawing eight walks in that span. For the season, he's at a .302/.381/.488 slash line with 10 home runs, 42 RBI, 26 runs scored, 15 doubles and no stolen bases, and his 9.0 percent walk rate is double his previous career high, which was in a 39-game sample as a rookie in 2011. • Belts 11th homer
Abrams went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.

Advice: The shortstop launched a solo shot off Reese Olson in the third inning to get the Nationals on the board. Abrams has shaken off his May slump, hitting safely in six straight games with six of his seven hits (three doubles, a triple and two homers) during that stretch going for extra bases. On the season, the 23-year-old is slashing .248/.296/.472 with 11 homers, 10 steals, 34 RBI and 38 runs in 61 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 7:42 am

    • Tallies three hits Wednesday
Arenado went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 4-2 win against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Among Arenado's three hits was a third-inning RBI double that was St. Louis' only extra-base hit of the contest. The veteran third baseman batted .167 over his first seven contests in June but has perked up since, putting together a four-game hitting streak during which he has gone 8-for-16. The hot stretch has improved his season slash line to .264/.320/.386. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:00 pm

    • Lifts homer in loss
Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Walker has gone 10-for-45 (.222) with two homers and eight RBI over 11 contests in June. The first baseman is up to 13 long balls, 42 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles, two stolen bases and a .255/.340/.458 slash line through 68 games this season. Walker's power is a bit down from the last two years, but that's at least partially due to bad luck -- entering Wednesday, he had a 50.0 percent hard-hit rate and a 15.1 percent barrel rate this season, up from 40.4 percent and 11.4 percent, respectively, in 2023.
