• Homers, drives in three
Malloy went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and three RBI during Thursday's 7-2 win against the Nationals.

Advice: Malloy's second-career homer came with two outs in the sixth and broke a 1-1 tie while his seventh-inning double drove in two and provided the Tigers with their winning margin. The 24-year-old rookie, who was also hit by a pitch in his first at-bat, entered the game with just three hits in his first 20 big-league at-bats but has now reached base 11 times in 29 plate appearances since seeing his first action on June 3, with a couple of singles, two homers, a double, five walks and a hit-by-pitch. • Aaron Judge fans four times, loses on-base streak
Aaron Judge struck out all four times up versus the Royals on Thursday to snap a 37-game on-base streak.

Advice: It was all quiet from the Yankees before the game, but we wonder if something is up with Judge, who was put at DH today even though he just had Monday off and it meant sitting Giancarlo Stanton after he’d homered the previous two days. It was the third golden sombrero of the year for Judge. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Blasts first homer
Stowers went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Thursday against Atlanta.

Advice: Stowers' first homer of the season came in the seventh off Atlanta reliever Pierce Johnson and pulled the Orioles to within one. However, those were the only three runs the O's would score. The blast was the first since 2022 for Stowers, who has collected a homer and four doubles among 10 hits in 34 at-bats this season. • Kyle Stowers hits three-run homer in loss
Kyle Stowers homered to account for all three Orioles runs in Thursday’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: It was a 439-foot blast off Pierce Johnson. Stowers deserves a chance to serve as a platoon corner outfielder for some team, but it’s unclear if the Orioles will ever have that kind of role available for him. He’s hit .294/.286/.500 in 35 plate appearances since being called up last month. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

  • Set to come off IL Friday
Pham (ankle) will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's game in Arizona, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Pham played in three rehab games with the Arizona Complex League White Sox this week, going 3-for-11 with a home run. He's been out for most of this month with a sprained left ankle. Pham had been seeing most of his starts in center field for the White Sox prior to getting hurt, but with Luis Robert now back in tow, Pham should shift over to right field. • Day off Thursday
Happ is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay.

Advice: Happ has had a rough road trip, collecting just one hit. He'll rest for the final game of the trip as Mike Tauchman draws the start in left field for the Cubs. Rotowire.com Today, 1:31 pm

  • Justyn-Henry Malloy homers, doubles to lead Tigers
Justyn-Henry Malloy came through with a solo homer and a two-run double in leading the Tigers past the Nationals 7-2 on Thursday.

Advice: The homer was Malloy’s second in nine games since his callup. He’s batting .217/.367/.522 through 30 plate appearances. It’s doubtful that he’ll keep slugging .500, but his OBP figures to remain pretty good. Mixed leaguers can likely do better. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm

  • Jacob Young goes 0-for-3 in loss to Tigers
Jacob Young finished 0-for-3 against the Tigers on Thursday and is 2-for-23 in his last seven games.

Advice: Young did have two hard-hit balls today, which is notable considering that his 25% hard-hit rate is among the lowest in the majors. Power isn’t at all Young’s game, but it’s disturbing that his OBP has collapsed. He’s hit .217 and walked just three times in 99 plate appearances since May 10. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm

  • Cleared for rehab assignment
Jimenez (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the Arizona Complex League White Sox on Thursday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Jimenez has been on the shelf for just over three weeks with a left hamstring strain and is now ready to test things out in game action. The White Sox haven't revealed how many rehab games the designated hitter might require, but a return next week would seem to be on the table. Rotowire.com Today, 1:23 pm
